Where has the time gone?

Post by richardandtracy »

Today is our 31st wedding anniversary. Can remember the day like yesterday.

Given how well I can remember it, how can there be so much time between then & now?!?

I drove myself to the wedding in my Red & White 2CV Dolly, wearing full Morning Suit and Top Hat (the car had enough headroom by miles). It's the only time I have worn a cravat. Tracy in a 1950's wedding dress with the fitted bodice she wanted and a multi-layer diaphanous skirt. Her bouquet was made from silk Daffodils & Forget-me-nots. She arrived at the Church on time in a white Rolls Royce. It was almost the last time I saw my brother (last time was 18 months later at my best man's wedding). My late mother looks so sprightly in the photos, as does MIL. FIL looks vaguely out of sorts in the photos, but didn't cause problems. dad looks barely different from now, but slightly less stooped.
Oh memories.
Just want to know where the time has gone since..

Regards,

Richard.

It has served its time by being filled with good memories and a lot of love, if the stitched portrait of Tracy is anything to go by!

ah the Honeymoon Portrait if I remember rightly, so beautiful and beautifully stitched, a real labour of love.

As for the time, it has been filled with treasured memories of the travels and holidays you have shared with us, and being parents to two beautiful girls and staff to many cats.

Your Wedding outfits sound fabulous,

I wore a 1920's style flapper dress to mine.

Enjoy the day!

:toast: Congratulations!!! I agree with the others that your beautiful piece of stitching of Tracy shows the shared love you have. Wishing you a happy and joy filled 31 more years.

Who knows where the time goes, indeed. Congratulations on 31 good years together. :rose:

Does this require a party in the Stash & Grab? I think so.

Maybe, possibly not at the moment.

We are thinking about having a celebratory Chinese Takeaway (big spenders, eh?), but we'll see if Tracy's too tired to have it tonight. Otherwise it's my turn to cook and we'll have it over the weekend.

That picture of Tracy is up in our living room, love it.

Just occurred to me that both our girls are older than Tracy was when we got married (she was 21, and the younger one is 22).

Thank you.

In the end we had a quiet evening in with the two ( :( ) remaining cats infesting a lap each, the kids being (as usual) very pleasant and a fire in the fireplace. Which was all rather nice and relaxing.

Richard

It sounds like a perfect anniversary evening. Actually, it sounds like a perfect evening regardless of what is being celebrated.
