A couple of quick pics of before:

and after the backstitch at the bottom:

Time to take the piece off of the stitching frame and then I can start thinking about the next piece.

That's wonderful...the colours of those butterflies really stands out against the 'frame' stitching! :applesauce: :applesauce:

Thank you, it has been taken off the stitching frame so I can show you it in its entirety

Image

I am pleased with it :D I can't look to frame it before next weekend as I want to take it along for our sewing group to see it first.

This was supposed to be something easy to go alongside my Peacock but it wasn't easy, so this time I am going back to Bothy Threads:

Image

The piece of spotty Aida has been put to one side and another clean piece of white found and..... I'm off :tizzy: There were a few other pieces I also fancied doing but they were on linen and I need something simple to give me a bit of a break and as Christmas is the season to be allowed some Cheese this felt right

You have done a beautiful job on this piece, and your sewing group will be well impressed, I should think. Wrendale designs are always fun.

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: The butterfly piece is beautiful and I'm sure your sewing group will love it too! Little mice are always cute. At least when in a Wrendale design.

Thank you for all your kind comments.

You may have noticed I finished off the Butterflies on my own table stand. For my "Crackers about Cheese" one I have decided to try out my 'new to me' Lowery stand:

Image

You can see I am using it on the third hole up from the bottom, this makes it a couple of inches higher than my table mount. I am so far finding it comfortable. I tried protecting the work from the corner clamp using some foam but that just makes the clamping less steady so it has been removed again.

One of the things I was not too sure on was how well it would rotate for tying off on the back:

Image

Loosening off the top of the side bar clamp proved to allow it to rotate and it is well balanced so it stays put without having to apply any friction by slightly tightening the lever. I've added some thin sticky rubber pads in four places under the base to prevent it from marking my floor because I noticed the head of the screw underneath was slightly proud and unless I put my foot or something on the plate it wobbled  Now it doesn't and I can work on it without having anything resting on the base plate :)

So far I like this (modified) Lowery stand :D

So glad you're getting on well with the Lowery! I have to put several heavy books on my floor plate to stop it moving. Because of the position of my TV in my 'stitchy corner' and because of the height of my chair I have to put my corner clamp on the bottom right corner of my R&R frame which means my right hand knocks it occasionally but I can live with it. Nice to see you've made a start on 'Crackers' too! ;)

P.S. I love your chart stand! You can view the whole thing which is great!

Thank you Nicola,

Weekend update time: I've only been working on the Crackers about Cheese one  I felt I needed something easy/fun so I have started on the cheese:

I hope to get time this coming week to frame my Butterflies and wash the two pieces Pam gave me.

Love the adaptations to your Lowery too. :applesauce: :applesauce:

I keep looking at the Lowery stand and wondering, but unless I see a bargain, as you did, then I guess I'll just keep looking! :D
