All that is left now is to stitch in baby's name and date of birth (sometime in April). Don't know if I'll add the weight or not. This went so fast and I loved the colors. Have to admit stitching the letters was tricky because the 2 over 2 counting is not my best, but I managed with only a few :ribbit:.

Image

Thanks for your encouragement. I'm planning on two more updates. When the stitching is finished and then once it's framed.

Now I'm off to return to one of my HAEDs which I haven't been at for almost 2 years. 1 over 1 on 25 count so definitely a bit different.

Well done! That is one Fine Heffalump! :applesauce: :applesauce:

I can well understand your counting problem!
I am stitching on Navy Blue Aida!
I hate Aida with a Passion!
This is a cushion cover so I thought as it was Navy it would be easier to count rather than Evenweave.
I am using a magnifier and have a light under the fabric....but I sthink the problem lies with the fabric itself as I keep catching an extra thread from the next block.
When I buy a kit i always change the fabric to Evenweave and have no trouble counting!

Anyway I've poached enough of your post so I apologise in my Grumping!

Wendy,You are welcome to grumble. I've been grumbling. The sampler pattern called for 14ct Aida, but I also hate that fabric so decided on either 26 or 28 ct evenweave (Lugana, I think) and thought 2 over 2 would be a nice size. I can't stitch on a dark color fabric anymore. Couldn't do it very well when my eyes were younger, but I would go nuts if I had to do it now. So grumble away. You have my sympathy

So it is! Now all we have to do is wait until the baby arrives, then wet his/her head in the Stash & Grab!

Finally delivered the framed Sampler yesterday and saw and held my great granddaughter who is (I may be biased) the cutest, most adorable baby girl ever at 1 month old.

and got a great Mother's Day gift from my grandson and his partner. A big coffee mug which says "Great Grandma. The name says it all" I almost cried.

Thanks for looking!
