fccs’s other crafts 2021

Post by fccs »

I’ve been working on my 2018 (!!) temperature afghan, and I’m about half way through May now, and ran out of some of the colors (they are on order). When I finish June, I’ll decide what the next step is, but I’m pretty sure I’ll make two separate afghans. This one isn’t super wide and if I did all 12 months, it would too long. I think two smaller, couch sized afghans, would be really cool, and possibly the second one will be a different pattern (this one is all single crochet), just to keep it interesting.

(Edited: Sorry, photo has been lost.)

WOW I love those colours. I like the idea of 2 separate pieces maybe the 2nd one in a different set of colours. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

I love the concept of this. For 2020, you'd need to add more reds and oranges, though, I fear.

Yes, i think your idea of two couch-sized afghans is a very good one. They'll make an interesting pair!

(I wouldn't ever start a project as big as this, but if I did i might be tempted to do one for April to September and one for October to March, in the hope of getting one "warm-coloured" afghan and one "cool-coloured" one :-) )

I think my yarn is to be delivered in the next few days.

The second one will be the same color scheme as it matches my cross stitch temperature piece. There will be lots of orange and reds to end this one, and the next will start with the same colors, as our summers can get quite toasty.

I haven’t made a quillow for a long time, but I decided to finally use the fabric I bought years ago. The Angels are my favorite baseball team. :-)

Image

I’m also a Star Trek fan. I’m not sure this one is going to be quillow, or just a quick tied quilt.

And this one will just be a tied quilt.

Never heard of a quillow, but I can see what it might be. Love the dragonfly fabric.

Is it a quilt that folds up into a pillow? Clever! And they all look beautiful.

I really like the quilts\quillows and after seeing the beautiful snowy picture you posted in your photo thread, I think 3 quilts and/or quillows make a lot of sense.

Yep, there’s an attached “pocket” that the quillow folds into to transform it into a pillow. And when it’s opened like a quilt, you can put your feet in the pocket for extra warmth...just don’t stand up and try to walk. :D
