The photo proves that Lexi is one smart kitty cat. And I never have doubted the wisdom of birds either!

Yesterday I cut Skye’s nails. She does not enjoy it. It was hard to get a picture, but this is after it was done. She curls up in a tiny ball and covers her face with her paws. While I cuddle her she eventually starts to purr.

She does, but it’s actually nice. She doesn’t usually cuddle other than when I’m falling asleep.

I wouldn’t even think of clipping Rosey’s claws. Trying to to brush her if she has even a small clump of hair is a not fun experience. Skye looks so precious all curled up. The only time Rosy curls up on me if I’m going to sleep or taking a nap. And she loves to. All I have to say is bedtime or nap time and she gets into the bedroom before I do. And that’s when I wish I could clip her claws :tizzy:

Skye now explores through the night and sleeps on my lap through the day. She seems to have vivid dreams. Her paws are moving like she’s chasing something, and occasional meows.

Earlier this week she wanted out in the yard. There was a skunk.

Skye has let us know she wants a furry friend. Around here, an adult cat costs anywhere from $75-$350. I found one I think would be a good match for her, but the site doesn’t list prices. I sent in an application to adopt….then I told DH. His response was that he was trying to figure out how to wrap a cat and put it under the tree for me. Then he says…oh…this isn’t a present for you is it? It’s for her.

Caught her with her tongue out.

It's difficult to wrap a cat...

...and dangerous too!

Rosey loves to play in piles of wrapping paper, tissue paper for wrapping but I think trying to wrap her up would leave me with scars I don't even want to think about.

   I wouldn't be surprised if that kitten climbed to the top of the tree once it got our of the gift box.

The second room we walked in DH fell for Tiger. We went to get a 5-7 year old female, but instead got an almost 2 year old male.

DH also fell in love with a little girl named Emmy, be she is bonded with a sibling.

There's a little magazine out in newsagents in the UK at the moment by the 'National Geographic', called 'The Secret Life of Cats'. I couldn't resist a copy https://www.amazon.com/National-Geograp ... 1547861363. It's on the shelves at some W H Smiths for £9.99 at the moment.

The author suggests that cats & humans have been living together for around 10,000 years (after a recent archaeological discovery of a boy's grave next to a cat grave in the fertile crescent in Iraq/Iran) and that cats domesticated themselves rather than have humans do it. The photo of a kitten on the inside back cover is gorgeous.

Richard

Love Tiger. Reminds me of my Merry (Meriadoc Brandybuck). If he is half as loving he will be a welcome addition. Let us know how the two felines get along.

and of course cats domesticated themselves and keep trying to help us get domesticated too.
