Tiffstitches 2020

Post by tiffstitch »

Hello all! I hope everyone had a good holiday season. 2020 has started off with a new finish!

Ocean Curiosity by Who Knew stitched 2 over 1 on 18ct aida with WDW Michael's Navy. I used 4.5 skeins. The fireworks at the top are with Rainbow Gallery blending filament that Sally had gifted me a few years ago.
Image

I'm kind of obsessed by the new Pattern Keeper app and started this full coverage project January 1st, Mini Waterhole Master by HAED. This is a little over 2K stitches.
Image

Hogwarts in a Bottle, just a little progress on this one.
Image

Do Not Meddle, I hope to finish this one this year
Image

Princess and the Dragon, moving on and getting closer to about 1/2 way I think.
Image

And I also started this new full coverage piece, Mini Faery Tales all because of Pattern Keeper.

Great to see you posting Tiffany and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year break too.

It certainly seems that Pattern Keeper is a site to stay well away from. Love all your WIP"s and new starts and look forward to seeing the updates on them over the coming weeks and months. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

:applesauce: :applesauce: You are one busy stitcher! And your projects look like fun and are coming along beautifully. :applesauce: :applesauce: I've been using GoodNotes for a long time (several years for sure) for my PDF patterns and generally scan in other projects (my working copy and I delete them when completed). Especially good because it is easy to enlarge the patterns. Doesn't track progress, but I'm wondering if Pattern Keeper is similar except for that?

I love your Ocean Curiosity. Great work!
The hand-dyed fabric makes The Princess and the Dragon project very atmospheric. Can' t wait for its update :D
You have many lovely projects to stitch, tiffstitch.

Great projects, all! I’m using Pattern Keeper for my Curl Up.

Pattern Keeper is only useful for charts actually created as PDF’s, thus making then searchable. Think HAED, Scarlet Quince, etc. I’ve used GoodNotes for quite awhile now and love the fact that I scan any chart I want and use the app. I think my favorite thing about PK is that I can unzoom and it shows my actual progress because when I complete a stitch, it displays the floss color. Pretty cool. I bought an Android tablet to use it and while I’m glad I did, I still really, REALLY wish is was an app made for iOS. I don’t count my stitches but PK does (sort of...it’s buggy) if that’s something you like. It also shows how far (%) into the design you are.

Thanks Debby for the info. Think I'll stick with what I've got. If there is ever an IOS format for Pattern Keeper I might think about it. The idea that it displays completed stitches in the floss color is pretty cool. My completed stitches are just highlighted by me in boring yellow, but I've always liked coloring inside the lines.

Thank you everyone for your comments.

Debby is right Carole, PK is useful for pdfs only, but it is very handy for the full coverage ones. Apparently the latest app update fixed the counting issue and some of the other bugs, but no iOS form yet.

I've mostly been working on Faery Tales and Waterhole Master, but also another HAED, Mini Winter Magic. They look like this right now in order:

I'm not in Vanessa's league, but I"m enjoying them. :)
