Dahliadoll’s 2020 CCS Goals/Progress (update 9/29/20)

Post by DahliaDoll »

Greetings and Happy New Year!

Recapping my stitching accomplishments in 2019:
  • 22 Greeting cards
  • 1 4-sided ornament
  • 1 flat ornament
  • 1 flat-fold greeting card
  • Stitched but not finished into final project:
    • 10 CCS cats for calendar for DGD (2 more to do)
    • 9 CCS owls (Lesley Teare) for calendar for DGD (3 more to do)
  • Started fox chart for DGS birth record

In 2020 I hope to continue to stitch small motifs for friends and family greeting cards as well as finish my UFOs which are as follows:
  • CCS calendar motifs:
    • Sonja (Lesley Teare 2019 Owls SAL) … 3 left to stitch
    • Julia (happinessiscrosstitching monthly cats) … 2 left to stitch
    • Valentin (Lakeside Needlecraaft Woodland SAL) … not started
    • Fox chart for Valentin's birth record
  • Possible ornaments for 4 grandchildren

And perhaps I'll have time for just a little bit more …

That's quite a programme you've got there! But then just look at all the things you've accomplished in 2019 - looks like you will definitely have time for a little more :-)

Very impressive list for 2020!

Do you know if the December owl is still available from Lesley Teare? I have all the rest, but can't find the last one! :( Admittedly, I forgot to look until January...

I believe the owls are gone for now. In going back through her blog, I don't even see the posts about the owls on her blog, let alone the links to download the charts. I would expect her to sell them in her shop at some point. If you are interested enough, you could contact her to ask that they be offered for sale for those that missed some. I think her prices are reasonable.

I sent Lesley an email and she added them to her shop! What a lady!

The only CCS finish I've made this year is this Valenine card I sent to a friend.

Image

I also stitched a cute chart for one of my grandchildren but will save it for next year.

I did also make a couple of machine embroidery cards.

My cross stitching plans have been curtailed by rotator cuff issues, including recent surgery.

I am sorry to hear about your rotator cuff issues. Hope those get better.Love your Valentine cards though. The machine stitched are very pretty as is the one stitched by hand.

So pretty! Your friend must have loved that one!

I'm very impressed by your machine embroidery!!
I tried it once.... my machine had to go to see the repair man to remove all the scrunched up thread inside the poor thing!! :tantrum:

The cards are all beautiful. I have a sewing machine that does embroidery but haven’t played with it much. Maybe I should...

Lovely. Especially like the Robin. When in the garden this afternoon our cat Rooster got a severe ticking off by one. It was funny, he's a huge fat cat, being told off by a tiny scrap of a bird.

Regards,

Richard.
