Oops, that may have been me - I thought I'd put it in energy-saving mode...

All-day breakfast sounds great, does it run to eggs benedict?

and Belgian Style Waffles, with or without fresh fruit. I especially like the blueberry waffles with a little syrup and butter. Yummy.

It’s been a long day. Between Brexit (in Scotland, we voted in 2014 to stay in the UK in part because it guaranteed our place in the EU; oh, dear.) and my appointment to finally submit my application for naturalisation, I feel I deserve a very large hot choc with every marshmallow available.

Don't normally allow myself cream... it was delicious! If all this is successful, I'll have two passports to renew every ten years...

Your friend's son should look out to see if he could make use of a special something-or-another that one of those governments can put in the appropriate passport to make transits easier. He shouldn't, of course, be going in and out of the US on his UK passport... apparently they get Very Shirty if you do and they catch you.

Storm Ciara has made me very happy I live in the 3rd little piggy's house (made of brick; stone in my case). It's been wild and wet! Hope everyone is doing just fine and is high and dry. :tea: Off to watch the rugby...

Do we have a special Rugby-watching room with humongous screen? (And is there another room to escape the rugby... :-) ? )
I've been doing some back-breaking stitching (more about that some other time) so I'll just go into the garden room with reinforced floor-to-ceiling glass and watch the unicorns dash about in the storm while sipping hot chocolate.

Funnily enough, Mabel, a television (whether wide-screen or plasma) is not normally available in the Stash & Grab. The S&G specialises in the "un-essentials" of life (so called), like happiness, companionship, friendship, looking after unicorns –- that sort of thing. So I went home to watch the rugby, which was like the curate's egg: good in parts. (Scotland lost... but the Italians put up a good fight.)

I have been watching the weather...not the rugby (don't do non-spherical balls...or round ones either! )
I'm so pleased that you live in the 3rd little piggy house, there has been some wild and wet old weather up in the North as well as the rest of the country.
Thank Goodness that the S&G doesn't have TV! I'd hate to be distracted whilst relaxing in there!

Absolutely. And no newspapers or news magazines allowed either, I assume.
And I hope that y'all are safe today. Saw a few of those videos of airplanes trying to land at Heathrow and in Birmingham?. Very very scary. Glad that you live in the 3rd piggy house, Serinde. Definitely a day for well built homes.

Funny, how a foreigner always looks for the fifth corner in the room. It took me some time yesterday to realize that Serinde was simply refering to the world- known fairytale while speaking about the third piglet's house. I was looking for some special meaning of the phrase first.

Oh, don't I know it. :) Stone houses are wonderfully reassuring. (Even the roof is stone, being slate.) Lyudmila, I'm glad you also have the fairytale of the three little pigs and the big bad wolf. The longer I live, the more I realise how much humans everywhere have in common.

Regarding newspapers, I am unsure about that. My view would be definitely no tabloids, however the difficulty is that "newspapers" are increasingly "opinionpapers" these days. But we can't hide away from the world entirely; we have an interest in the growing of flax, cotton and sheep, after all, not to mention bamboo and silk worms. And trees and clean water. Plus the welfare of all the critters we have accumulated within the S&G territories, and their cousins by the dozens. And we look after each other, too. Stewardship is a heavy responsibility.

The padded room for the disposal of crockery is an effort to keep inevitable political storms raging outside contained within these hallowed walls and not leaking out into other forum threads. As long as everyone is respectful, all is well. (And if they aren't, the Mod Squad will get 'em. )

Good points raised Serinde. I'm off to the padded room since I've been disagreeing with my scanner (new printer/scanner) as I've tried to scan some charts in so I can stitch from Goodnotes. My working copies so will be deleted when I am finished. And I think a lovely latte when I move from the padded room to toasting my feet in front of the fireplace.
