Egypt updated 16th April

Post by paul »

My mum has been on at me for years to stitch her an Egypt design but I’ve been putting it off for ages as it’s not something that interests me. But then I had an idea.

To make it fun for me I’m doing a big piece. Remember my Disney piece? Well it will be like that just no way as big. Shall use
hieroglyphs as a border around the whole thing and fray edges of fabric so it looks like a Papyrus. Or at least that’s the plan but that could change as I go along.

This piece is in the centre...

And just below that....

What a great start. All the afghans I used to stitch were themes. I would collect all kinds of charts of whatever the theme was (cats, dogs, sports, birds etc etc) and then sort of sketch how I would lay things out and go for it. Kind of like your Disney project. I will be looking forward to seeing how your piece turns out. So far I'd say you are doing a great job!

Oooooohhhhh This is fabulous!

You have made great progress with this fascinating project, and your stitches are so lovely and neat and even.

I remember your Disney project, that was a fabulous labour of love, unique.

Can't wait to see how this progresses.
