Karen4bells' 2019 projects-stain glass dragonflies 5/2/19

Post by karen4bells »

STAINI know it has been ages since I have posted a photo of any work I have done, but due to many health issues my stitching bug has been on a very long hiatus! I recently started stitching again--yay and am currently working on a very different project. It is from a 2019 cross stitch calendar, put out by awesome pattern studio--which has 12 very unique mandala designs. This one is the May design called simply Mandala Hummingbird---here is my progress on it after about 10 days of stitching

and here is a picture of what all of the projects are

Love the sea turtle, owl, and elephant and likely will be doing at least those :)

That is beautiful -- so vibrant! And the other designs are equally intriguing -- I'd have the cat, tortoise, owl and elephant lined up. And the tree... You've made a fab start -- so glad your stitchy bug has returned.

So colourful - if anything can revive a stitching bug, this must be a firm contender!

Hip hip hooray for such awesomely beautiful designs that would bring any stitchy bug back home. Hard to resist. I would have to add the cat to the list of those I would do and probably the giraffe (once I figured out that it was a giraffe and not some strange bird). What fabric are you using?

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: A great start on the hummingbird. Looks like fun to stitch!

Reminds me of an artist someone looked at converting a couple of years ago, a picture of a multi-coloured cat on a duck egg green background. I think the website was called 'Too much color'.

Cannot remember what happened about it now.
Old age must be creeping up on... Sorry, lost my thread, what was I talking about?

Your stitching and subject are beautiful.

I'd love to have the Seattle chart. Do you know if there is any way to get it without ordering the whole calendar? I'll have to Google around. You've made a great hit with this posting. Thank you!

DahliaDoll, yes, you can order a pdf of Seattle and lots of different cities and animals from their etsy shop. The link to the Seattle one is

Oh those gorgeous colours and - as always - so beautifully stitched. A lovely start after a long hiatus. I do hope your health improves by leaps and bounds, you have been missed. :)

I’m glad your stitchy bug is back - hope the health issues sort themselves out soon. I love this bird! And just about every design in the calendar - do the giraffe next, please. :-)

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: That is absolutely gorgeous!!! The colors are wonderful and I wish the hummingbirds we see looked just like that! Wendy, I hope one day you get to see real hummingbirds. They are so much fun to watch. We get ruby throated ones here in the summer and one year for some reason unknown to us a rufus (I think that's what it was) spent much of the winter with us. That's about what is here but I've seen others on vacations. And they are really tiny.
