Hélène's Cats Choir UPDATE 09/06/19

Post by poppy »

Here is my start on the Choir by Peter Underhill.
I gridded the fabric, which is 28 count evenweave. Hopefully, it won't take too long to stitch, one cat at a time ...

I have a signed print-out of one of his artworks which I cherish - they are such fun! This is going to be an enjoyable stitch both to do and to watch *pulls up magic bench*

Hopefully there is room on the magic bench for me too. I have looked at this one many times and now I can sit and watch you do it in your usual wonderfully neat and tidy way Helene. You have made a wee start I see, what fun.

Right found my cushion Hi Mabel Hi Carole can I squeeze in here too please. :)

You've made a great start Héléne.

Peter Underhill's designs are so humorous.

Can I squeeze on the end of the magic bench too please?

Looks amazing. They are lovely little designs, and make one want to smile.
Friday evening we had our Maine Coon Ozzie sing to an intruder cat outside from the safety of the Kitchen windowsill. I would hate to be near 8 cats singing, one was pretty bad.. :? We thought he was being murdered and rushed to his aid, only to find he actually wanted to do war on a much smaller cat (well, almost every cat locally is MUCH smaller than he is).

Regards,

Richard.

Wonder if a Maine Coon is worse than our Siamese? They sound like babies being murdered! But at least we always knew where they were...

Gryff used to go around muttering a running commentary, but Maine Coons tend not to be anywhere near as vocal as Siamese. Our current pair of Maine Coons are generally quiet, with Ozzie giving occasional chirrips or 'Brroww' sounds.
However they both snore for their country. Apparently Ozzie snores out of phase with my snores, so when Tracy awakes at night one or other of us is emitting a snore at all times.

Richard.

I wonder if it was an exclusion or a confirmation of the rule, but the neighbour from upstairs had a white cat with blue eyes and the cat was deaf (they are said to always be). Anyway, that cat never sang.

We used to have a white tomcat with one blue and one green eye. He was certainly deaf, and had to be taken outside on a lead. When we were out in the garden, we used to tie him up like a dog, because he so enjoyed being outside with us. Seems slightly cruel now, but otherwise he'd have been totally indoors.

Laverne yowls (only word I can think of to describe it) when she moves her favorite toy (a once baby blue feather duster, now a disgusting looking dirty ragged thing) around. Usually when no one is looking. We call it her blue baby because that is how she carries it. Which makes no sense cause you could hear her a mile away. She meows when she wants me to do something, look at something, or just wants to tell me something. I can't say I ever heard her sing.

Poor Tracy, trying to sleep with all of you snoring!

The other day, in the garden, 2 cats were inches from each other, staring in each other in the eyes, screaming from time to time but being perfectly still for quite a long time! Do you know what that was all about?
We do not have a cat but all the local cats think of our garden as the public toilet
