Need Avatar Uploading Support?

Post by ecology665 »

I'm trying to add a picture to my profile. I dropped it to 20 x 13 pixels in Microsoft Paint and saved it as a GIF file. It will not let me upload the picture. :tantrum:

I'm no Guru but when I looked at the edit avatar setting in my control panel I saw that an avatar needs to be no more than 80 x 80 pixels. Yours is certainly a lot less than that. Don't remember what the file size limit is or what type of file it is supposed to be. .tif maybe? I'm sure we have directions somewhere but I can't find them. When we do get them, I will make that a "sticky" thread. In the meantime, we'll have to wait for a computer guru or at least someone with a better memory than mine is.

My avatar was a jpg I think. I know I've uploaded it as a bmp to one forum, but can't remember if it was this forum or another.
20x13 is very small, smaller than the emotions to the right of the editing window when you post.

Regards,

Richard.

I've asked Alex :alex: about this and am awaiting a reply (it's pretty early here). I used a jpg but also decreased the complexity of the original design a lot, I seem to remember. Hope to have an answer for you soon.
