I'm playing with herringbone stitch for the wing/bosy, and then realised the tail needs doing first because its edge needs to be covered by the body. So i chose to do that in blended satin stitch:

Wrote a bit about the Robin's progress in FoF, but I have made more progress since writing that so you're getting a sneak peek
I've outlined the battlement couching to tidy it up a bit, with a lighter shade at the top/left and a darker shade at the bottom/right, and I've completed the herringbone wing shading from dark/dark to light/light with three steps in between. Now considering how to outline it, I'm thinking something a bit more feathery than stem stitch.

I'm about to embark on a very special project with some trepidation.After my MIL Elizabeth died, my DIL Andreea asked whether she could have the jacket Elizabeth wore at her wedding as a keepsake.



She had it made into a memory bear, something I'd never heard of!



And now she's asked me to embroider something on the bear to personalise it further. We decided on "Granny" on the underside of one of his feet, and after some enquiry among the grandchildren I found a specimen of Elizabeth's handwriting to copy.

So now I've got her name tidied up into an outline to transfer, and I've picked some of the silks I inherited from her to use (haven't decided yet which colour). I will first try to stitch straight onto the bear, but if that turns out to be too difficult I will make a patch to sew on.
