Update on Snow 15th Sept

I bought this pattern before it was retired quite some time ago and decided to start it last week, I'm not normally one for stitching winged fairies but she enchanted me! I've almost done half a page in a week so hopefully it won't take me long to stitch, well maybe a year or two!

This is what she should look like when done

WOW that is a very different fairy design and it is going to be gorgeous when you have finished stitching her. You certainly have made a grand start too. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Well, this will be a good piece of stitching with many close shades, etc. But as Sally says, the result will be worth all your hard work. Enjoy stitching it!

Lulu, I can understand why you found this intriguing.
Who is the artist the conversion was from? It could well be interesting to see what other work they have done. Reminds me of Romulo Royo, but isn't in exactly the same style as his current work.

Regards,

Richard.

Thank you for your lovely comments :)

Richard the artist is Maxine Gadd I bought this chart from Haed some time ago but you can find her patterns on Mystic Stitch nowadays.

Thanks for that Lulu.
Had a look a her work that can be seen through the 'Google Image Search', and I have to confess I think you have got the best image of the lot. Her other images tend to be - to my eyes - in the general run of current fantasy artists, nothing objectionable, but nothing to get particularly excited about. However, this one is.. something far out of the ordinary. I look forward to your progress reports with keen anticipation.

Regards,

Richard.

I know what you mean about fairies but this one is very striking and I can't wait to see more updates. Hopefully the limited number of colours will help you make good progress. Great start! :applesauce: :applesauce:

Great start, Lulu! :D It is an amazing design, with all the sparks, the transparency of the wings and delicate features of the fairy.

At first I thought, "where's the snow?". Then I saw the whole image. Penny dropped. This is going to be extraordinary.

Wow! She is absolutely gorgeous!

I agree that most faerie images are a bit 'blah', but this one is striking!

Look forward to seeing it emerge from the aether!

I am really glad to see this fairy again.
You are doing an amazing job, I can fully understand why you love doing it. Having it in monochrome must make you go a little boss-eyed, but well worth it for the results.

Congratulations, and keep it up!

Regards,

Richard.
