Setting out - UPDATE 15th AUG

This kit is by DMC using satin threads. Not used them before but they are lovely, bright & shiny going through fabric very smoothly. Lady who I bought this form on EBay had turned over edges of fabric & stitched them as on DMC instructions. It makes for better edging on fabric & I will do that on my future projects as easier, quicker & neater than 0versewing edges. :D

Think I will have to save this draft & edit it to add main picture as my prev post has disappeared. May have to try Tinypics in future

That's good, got picture of kit front on here but now have to post it on page.

ps. Started about 6 weeks ago - not done s much as I usually would in that time as a few evenings it was very humid & sticky so no stitching these evenings :(

These pics do not show up now. They did when I first put this post up. Will have to try another website, maybe Flikr or Tinypics. Don't know which is best.

Lavender, a lot of us have had trouble with Photobucket. Try PostImage. It is free and easy to use.

Looking forward to seeing your new kit. :D
What did the lady do to edge the fabric?

Thanks very much Poppy. Glad you said it is easy to use as I'm not good with PC things  . Will sort that out later, am off to dentist soon.

The lady who I bought it form had turned over edges about 1.5 centimetres, in this case 2 blocks of the Aida, & sewn it down using tacking stitches. Once she'd done that turned over to 'right; side & this left raw edges on back of fabric. On front all you can see it a line of tacking stitches round the edges instead of oversewing. Continual line of stitching ____ ____ ____ ____ round the 4 sides of the fabric looks better than my usual way :D Will try & put pic up soon once I am able to post pics.

This kit is stitched on blue Aida but I prefer white. I thought it would be nice to have a different colour to work with but it is not so good for my eyes but will persevere with it as I love how the colours of the picture :D

Thank you Helene. This reminded me of first time DH & I went to Snowdonia National Park; through flat grassy plain with the mountains & then turned a corner coming across Llyn Ogwen. We didn't have a road map with us & were astounded at the beautiful sights I knew if we headed towards the coast we could get home from there. Each time we turned a corner stunning scenery & a very clear sunny day so could see down the Nan Francon Pass & across to Anglesey. You could see how the glacier had formed the valley below that pass. Sheep almost on the wall along edge of road on right hand side. A journey we have never forgotten & it became our favourite outing. Can't travel that far now but have lovely memories of it. Recently bought heather & they are in pots in the garden :D

Thanks also for info re avatar pic :D

Latest pic. Done 3/4 of first page, only 4 pages. Not nearly so big as many on here but good to know I've done a fair bit :)

Sorry it has turned out bluer than it should be, Aida is a pale blue. Will take pic in a different place next time. Did 1st one in the bedroom & it is obviously the best place to take pics. There is very pale blue between the mountains to make it misty though.

Having rarely tackled anything that was more than one page I think this is plenty big enough :-) - and as always, it's the design and the stitching and the enjoyment you get from it that count! This is a lovely atmospheric view
