I'm still here. I had basically left my stitching to finish school. Now I'm back stitching. It feels good. :tea: :D

These days I only actually cross stitch when at my parents house. Life has got really busy. My kid doesn't fit into store bought clothing so I got into dressmaking and so spend most of my free time doing that instead.

I have emerged from my Burrow where I have been lurking for the past 5-6 weeks!
Thank goodness that 2018 had finally been kicked away! It was a difficult year ending in a crescendo of awfulness not helped by The Beastly Cold Bug which seems to have afflicted many!

A big thank you to Serinde for her wonderful Advent Calendar which made my mornings and to Garnet whose wise words put everything back into perspective.

I am so glad to see you back with us Wendy, but am so sorry that your year ended so poorly that you had to burrow in to survive the last weeks of 2018. It most certainly has been a year of ups and downs for so many of us. Here is hoping that 2019 is a lot brighter for you and yours!

Welcome to 2019, a most propitious year for Wombats! May all the worry and illness of 2018 soon be no more than a distant memory.

I still look in from time to time but the past couple of years have been taken up with fitting in magazine design work between helping out elderly parents. My father died last year and his last four years were hard for all of us (dementia and bowel cancer). My mother recently moved into an assisted living house near us. This has meant we have had to clear out her home of 46 years and sell it for her as she was no longer capable of doing this herself. The sale completed two weeks ago so life seems to be calming down a little now and is not quite so frantic!
On the plus side, I found an old Craft Collection kit when clearing out her house. My mother has completed about three quarters of it but doesn't feel able to finish it so she has asked me to carry on with the stitching. Oh, if I must....... :)

I am sorry to hear about your father and how difficult those years were also. I know how difficult caring for an elderly parent. I hope that your mother will be happy in her setting and that you will be able to return to a more settled life again. It is good to hear from you and also good to read in your other post that the feedback you received from the forum was helpful. Hope you will continue to drop in when you can.

A  for you for the past difficult years and a :rainbow: for the future. I hope and pray that your dear Mum settles down in her new environment - always a difficult time no matter what age. :)

Hi everyone, I can't believe that I've been away from this forum for about 10 years!!! I almost couldn't remember my password  for the few members from way back I posted a description of the parking method and was so shocked that it's still up!!! Been catching up on a lot of the threads and just wanted to say that I love this forum
