Lovely picture. Sorry about the :anotherfrog: visit.

Regarding beads, I definitely agree about waiting to the end to decide. Looking at the kit picture I can understand your concern and Sally's French knot suggestion might be a good compromise. Or you could just add as many beads as you're happy with then fill in the rest of the gaps with stitching.

Thank you ladies for your comments & also thank you Rosemary for suggesting another option at the end.

I have today finished my first page, although in numerical order it is page 4 as I prefer to start in the middle of charts. I am so pleased to have done a whole page, didn't realise how good it made you feel although this is not nearly as large as many on here. it will still be my largest project yet

Will now go upwards to page 3, as once I've done a bit more greenery it will be top half of cottage, roof & then sky so changes of colour from this page. After 2nd page is complete will go on to another project & alternate between the two. That will be Dimensions Mai, geisha.

:applesauce: :applesauce: Congratulations on finishing the first page!! Doesn't matter where that page is (corner, top, center, etc), there is a special feeling when the first page is done! Doesn't matter how large or small a project is either. This is so pretty and you are making good progress!

Latest picture. If I lived in a place like this would do B&B. And if gardens at back were large enough would have a summer house to sit & stitch in. Would invite fellow crafters once a week & anyone who wanted company, a cuppa & a chat.

Colours are darker than on chart picture. These latest threads are different colours to lower section so am not getting bored with it yet.

Wonderful progress!

I have to say, I agree, if that were a B&B, I don't think I'd ever want to leave!

Save a room for me too, please! And a space in the summer house with the stitching group, of course!
Beautiful progress!

I agree I doubt if any of us would move out from such a lovely B&B with the bonus of a group to stitch with.

Great progress and beautiful stitching. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Thank you all for your lovely comments :) I am enjoying stitching this as it is turning into a lovely picture. So many colours in the roof which don't show up a lot in the photo. Several shades of mauve, green, brown & greys. When I first picked up the mauve I thought how unusual a colour it is to add to a roof but when all shades are together they meld into each other. The designer is John Hassall & he has certainly excelled himself with this beautiful design. Wonder if he has done others. Will have to look although I have plenty to keep me going for eons, it would be interesting to see more of his art work. Doesn't hurt to look does it? Famous last words  !

That's looking wonderful. It's amazing how "wrong" colours can blend into a picture.
