Charmagne's SAL - Golden Pair - FINISHED!!!!

Post by charmagne_capalad »

I'm finally back on doing this again after a long time of taking a break and putting this one on hold....and this time I promised myself that I'm gonna have to finish this once and for all. (I still have another large WIP...I was debating to myself to do the 2 of them alternately and post them together here in the SAL... ) Anyway, that will be decided later on...

So, this one is entitled "Golden Pair" based on an art painting of a well known Japanese painter - Kayomi Harai. It's a pair of leopards. There are lots of color changes (74 colors involved) ...seems like endless shades of browns, grays and greens
Here is the pic of art painting:

Here is the pic of where I actually stopped and took a break around mid-April this year:

What a design! And you have done so much already, so you'll soon get back into the swing of all those colour changes.

Thanks ladies...I am glad also that I finally got the inspiration to xstitch this again...I started it in around February this year...I guess, I just got bored due to lots of color changes in just a 10x10 block.

I really need all your help on here so I could finish this one....that's why I decided to put it on the SAL thread. You are all very good in giving the right push just when one needs it. Right?

I had done some updates already ...been on it for 3 days now....I'm going to post updated progress tomorrow... ..so you wouldn't have to sit in the magic bench for so long...

Thanks everyone!

With all those colours, have you considered doing the parking method with your threads? That might speed things up a bit, make you feel you are progressing?

I saw this in your gallery when I was poking around and thought...what a beautiful picture, hope she starts working on it again. I really like the colors I know they are a pain when stitching but the results are just awesome.

This is so gorgeous! I'm intrigued - is this a kit? I've never seen this pattern before because I'd remember this for certain! :D

It's offered free before in http://www.wendycrossstitch.com" target="_blank back in 2004. But now, the site doesn't exist anymore... :(

There are some works of Kayomi Harai in Artecy.com...He usually paints leopards and tigers. :) But I couldn't find this design anymore among his featured works there ...So, I'm glad I had it back then. :)

Here's an update! ...not quite alot as this one really takes time stitching due to lots of color changes...this was worth 3 days effort with about 3 hours/day stitching...not really a fast stitcher

so, from here:

...to this one last night :)
