fccs's Winter Magic stocking - 25 October

Here's my main focus now; it's for my friends' daughter, Dipali. I made stockings for the rest of the family a long time ago and Dipali is a relative newcomer. (She's like a sister to Katrina, the owner of Tinkerbell.) She just graduated college and will soon be off to Boston University to begin work on her PsyD. My friends also said they want one for Dipali's boyfriend, but I have a rule - no Christmas stocking until there is a wedding ring on the finger. :-)

And this is where I was last week - I haven't uploaded current pics since. I'm hoping to get more done before vacation in a couple weeks. I'll be taking some stitching with me, but smaller pieces that are easy to tote around and set aside while I'm sipping on a cocktail (or two...). I also can't take it because Dipali will be there and she doesn't know about the stocking.

The colors in the photo are off - the fabric is actually white (28 count Lugana). After all the blended needles and confetti of Tinkerbell, it's nice to stitch something like this, although the snowman (snowlady?) is two plies white and one strand of Kreinik blending filament.

Looks great so far. I love it although I am quite partial to snowpeople. :applesauce:

What a fun design! This will be so nice to see developping, and Dipali will be so happy receiving it.

:applesauce: :applesauce: Great progress! This will definitely be a fun one to stitch! I love the effect of floss and blending filament together because it gives it a subtle sparkle. In this case I'm sure it will look like sun reflecting off the snow. Wonderful!

What a lovely design and such a wonderful gift! So nice to make a series of stockings for the whole family. My mom did something similar for my husband's family, so I know how much those stockings will always be cherished.

That certainly is a lovely stocking Debbie and I am sure that Dipali will love it. I like your rule about a wedding ring first before a 'family type' gift, very sensible. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

It's lovely Debby and so beautifully stitched. I love these Christmas stockings and have done two. Makes me want to do a third!

It's been almost two months since I updated this - and you can see I haven't been giving it as much attention as I should - but I'm enjoying it. I'm glad the snowman is done because it is all blended needle - two strands of floss and a strand of Kreinik blending filament. I think I only have to deal with that one more time (the big snowball).

:applesauce: :applesauce: Lovely update! I love the look of floss and blending filament and have been known to switch to that when Kreinek #4 is called for, because it has such a soft and subtle sparkle. That is going to be one wonderful Stocking1

I love how it looks, too, and I almost always add some to a design. Blended needles are just a pain. :-)

Oh so pretty. Love this, look forward to next photo. At Christmas snowmen & penguins are my favourites to stitch
