Yay, my Garden of Earthly Delights kit came!
I ordered a kit of the painting Garden of Earthy Delights by Hieronymus Bosch. I've been waiting for this kit to come for a while. It came yesterday and it's huge!. The finished size will be 125 cm tall by 48 cm wide (14 ct aida). The pattern is 60 pages (but it's fairly large print).
Look at all that floss!
And here's one last pic of the kit with a small dog for scale:

Great googly moogly!! That is a LOT of floss!!
Re: Yay, my Garden of Earthly Delights kit came!
I bet the little dog is thinking how much attention all that floss will require, perhaps at the dog's expense. And probably plotting how to prevent that from happening.

Grats on getting your kit!
I didn't realize it was just a small piece of the whole picture, but it'll still be awesome. Stitch count is more telling than the finished size, though. Having a big piece on 14 count or 11 count isn't really all that 'big' when you could stitch it over-1 on a higher count fabric and have the finished piece be a more manageable size with the same number of stitches.
What is the actual stitch count?

The stitch count is 173,444 (262 stitches wide by 662 stitches high).Allyn wrote: What is the actual stitch count?
I'm glad it's going to be as big as it will be, I'm going to hang it up on my living room wall. If I was expecting people to look at it from a short distance away (like a bookmark or coaster) I'd go for a higher stitch count, but this will be viewed from across a room.

What a great design and I love your fabric and those threads too. Guess it will keep you busy for a while or three. Way to go Drew.

That's a fair size project. That must be a really big room if folks are going to stand that far away. I look forward to seeing the updates.

173k stitches.
That is almost as many as I have done in my whole life (227k) over the 8 projects I have done.
Phwee. Good luck.
It is a strangely interesting picture. I am glad, though, it no longer has the same spiritual connotations it used to, otherwise it'd have most of us quaking in our shoes.
Regards,
Richard.
