Good stitching magazine?
Hi everybody. I've resurrected my stitching things and dug out a baby sampler I intended to finish two years ago! Since then, my son and his wife have had another child, so, thankfully, there is room for two names on the sampler.
It has wetted my appetite for more stitching and I wondered if anybody could advise about any good stitching magazines, preferably with hardanger and other stitching techniques, as well as cross stitch. I saw that New Stitches had finished - very shocked - but wondered if there were any other magazines out there that I don't know of.
Hope you are all well.

Welcome back Genevieve!! I can't help you with the stitching magazines as I don't get any, but I'm sure there will loads of suggestions coming your way from those who do. I hope that you will stick around for a while and show us what you've been stitching. Looking forward to see the sampler that you are back to stitching and congrats on getting a new grandbaby to add!

Re: Good stitching magazine?
I only do the cross stitch myself, so my favorite magazines feature mostly that, but I know Cross Stitch & Needlework does often feature hardanger, punch needle, and other embroidery techniques in their issues.

The demise of New Stitches is a shock, although past issues are available around and about. If you don't mind mixing your techniques, I'd say the best on the market at the moment are the Australian Inspirations and Embroiderers' Guild's Stitch.

Re: Good stitching magazine?
I don't buy magazines, but have often come close to buying the 'Cross Stitch Collection'.
CoreyG's Tiger is from one of their magazines.

Richard.

As Serinde says Stitch has lots of different techniques and some lovely projects; I have heard good things about the other magazine she mentions as well although I haven't tried it. Serinde, aren't some issues of Inspirations available online?

Re: Good stitching magazine?
The only one I get regularly is The World of Cross Stitching. I've been getting this magazine for a little over a year now. I love their card designs especially but they also do larger projects. They don't do hardanger though.
Eat, Sleep, Stitch, Repeat ...
Re: Good stitching magazine?
Thank you all for your help. I picked up 'Stitch' in my local newsagent this morning, but haven't yet had time to have a good look at it. You've certainly given me ideas and I'll have a good look through them all to see if I like them.
I bought myself a needle threader this week - I have terrible trouble threading a needle. I signed up for a class on crewel work at last year's Knitting and Stitching Show at Harrogate. It was really interesting, but I did very little other than attempt to thread the needle!
