I got TWO more pages done since February 4th! All the white for the oceans is making this row go much faster. That will slow down on the next page, though--I have to stitch almost all of South America (except for Brazil, which is on the next page), so there is only about 1/4th of the page that will be ocean. That's what makes it fun, right? I hope to have that page done by March 23, which just happens to be my 50th birthday, so that will be a good way to celebrate! (I'm not having a bad reaction this year, considering it's a landmark birthday, so I don't mind turning 50.)

Anyway, here it is in full:

And here is the close-up of the two pages:

Hope you like the progress so far! I am definitely enjoying this one a lot.

Well, it's my birthday, so it's update time!!

I finished off the page I wanted, plus almost half of the next page. Here it is!

And here's the close-up of the Western Hemisphere:

I'll be helping my dad with his post-surgery recovery (he's getting his knee replaced tomorrow) for the next week or so, so even though I'll also be working from his house for part of the day, I might be able to get some extra work done on stitching in between helping him get more mobile. Have a great rest of the month, everyone!!

Really is a beautiful & detailed image. Quite amazing.

Hope you had a happy birthday & that your dad's recovery goes well. It is incredibly important that he uses the knee in the way the doctors say and when. My father did not, because it hurt, and as a result he hasn't got the range of movement or strength in the muscles he should. Bully your dad mercilessly to do as he's told and learn the lesson from my father.

Regards,

Richard.

Beautiful update on this piece. Your progress is amazing. I'm looking forward to your next update. :D

Happy birthday! I hope you find things go smoothly for dad's recovery. I've helped as my parents have had hip and knee replacements. Luckily, I've got several siblings around to also help out.

Thanks, everyone! Dad's been through this before (already had one knee and both shoulders replaced in the past 12 years), but he is getting older and has a stroke in there, too. Just waiting for them to take him into OR now.
