New to the forum

Post by ministitcher »

Hi all, Roz here from the UK. I've been doing things with needles and hooks since I don't know when. I am interested in most forms of needlework, cross stitching and other forms of counted work especially.

I think I might have got in here but still have serious doubts. I live in Whanganui on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand. I think I have stitched most of my life as being a bad asthmatic A lot of outdoor activities were not for me. My mother was also a an asthmatic and a stitcher so I joined with her very early. She was convent trained and set very high standards for me from the outset and for that I am very grateful now but that wasn't always the case.
I do free form embroidery but my preference will always be with all counted thread forms. I also crochet, knit, spin, quilt and paint while also maintaining nearly 1/2 acre of garden. We are enjoying a long dry hot summer so embroidery takes a break - it doesn't go well with sweaty hands so crocheting granny square blankets is my summer task using the left overs of winters knitting

Hello & welcome Roz from wet & windy North Wales. Hope you do put pictures of your works on here as you have lots of hobbies & from what I've seen so far anything you make can be put on here. There is 'Other Crafts' section as well so not all x-stitching. I do knitting too & tapestry & long stitch. Am still knitting an item I will post on here in Other Crafts when it is completed. Nothing grand, a child's jumper, but it is still a make. Hope to see you on here again soon :D

Hi my name is Lyn I am 62 years old, i have just gone back to cross stitching, i used to do it, then had a go at card making but find cross stitching is so relaxing, my other hobbies are reading books on my kindle, knitting playing bingo on line. I have been married to Graham for 43 years and we live in Cromer Norfolk. we did have 2 daughters, my eldest daughter is deceased but youngest daughter Helen lives in Cromer too with her husband and 2 daughters, I have a grandson who lives with his father and stepmum. I look forward to chatting with other members and exchanging ideas.

Lots of new people on this thread. Welcome everyone and hello from Colorado. I hope you will all feel quite at home here and will share your work with us. Some of us set up a thread for each WIP and some of us do one thread for everything (and some of us -me- do both). However you set it up, we'd love to see what your current (and past) projects are.
