So sorry to read that you have been unwell - sending prayers for a quick and complete recovery.

That is going to be oh so gorgeous when it is done and what beautiful colours too. :applesauce:

This project has really given my stitching bug a tonic - I'm enjoying it very much and can't wait to pick it up again later tonight! Here is what I managed last night:

Finished :whoop:
I'd show you a picture but DH has gone off with my camera to photograph the new hood on his Austin Seven...
Now I need to lace it as quickly as possible, and see if any of the three (!) framers in the village can make it look presentable by Thursday closing time

So here it is, once with "flat" light, once with the sun on it to show its texture, and once laced ready for framing:

When I went to the framer they were really helpful and kind! I found a lilac/purple frame that I fell in love with but unfortunately because of the time constraints I had to choose from the things they happened to have in stock (normally you choose from a range of frames and they order the wood/metal in), so I went for, surprisingly, a dark red frame. But here is a pic of the one I would have chosen had I been better organised...

So pretty Mabel  I love the vibrant colours, the lilac/purple frame is lovely but I'm sure the red one will be just as nice, having a colourful frame makes your design 'pop' out :applesauce:

The framers came up trumps - ordered this morning, we picked it up an hour ago! So here it is in its red frame:

Just simply stunning, love the colours as well as the stitches. Purple frame is lovely but framer has made a good choice & did it so quickly too

This piece is so stunningly beautiful! It will make such a lovely 90th birthday gift. I hope one day, when I turn 90, I have somebody to do something so wonderful for me.

It's taken me several weeks to pick this up again - I knew I would have to start by unpicking a section that was one thread out, and I just couldn't face it. But at stitching group I put the wrong bit right and got on quite well, and the next evening I finished at home.

So here is Old & New 2 in beads, and a pic of both designs in both versions:
