Love the pouch but sad it won't work this time round. Those silks are gorgeous and the sunflower is going to be spectacular - of course.

No no, the pouch is fine! And it will get stitched :-) - it was just too big to take as a travel project this time, so I settled for a small sunflower.

Last week I submitted some designs to a magazine, and they said they liked them but these particular designs didn't fit in with their planned themes for the next few mags, and did I have something wintry in goldwork?

I didn't. But I do now...

They may not like it, or it may not fit in with what they've already got for that issue, in which case I'll still stitch it but not immediately; but here's a tiny preview of the design coloured in to represent gold, silver and copper.

I'm looking for a name for him - I'd like the design name to show that he won't melt, he's a permanent snowman friend :-).

On a different tack I considered "I will melt your heart" or something like that.

I'm not good with coming up with clever names, but I am pretty good when declaring a design is unique, cheerful and looks like fun to stitch and I declare this design is unique, cheerful and looks like it would be fun to stitch! :applesauce: :applesauce:

Lovely this design Mabel. I'm not good at names but like Poppy's. Or maybe Permanent Frostie or Dazzling Snowman, or even Dazzling Snow Friend. Maybe he could have a lady friend (snow lady) with the same glitter too :) then they could be called The Dazzling Duo or not as you prefer. :( ( I'll go so as not to show myself up any more  ) Anyway, the design.

Lovely design Mabel. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

I haven't been able to come up with a name either, but I love him, he looks so "Gentleman-ly" somehow and I don't think that's got anything to do with his top hat. A lady friend would be good too, maybe with a wrapround skirt? :)

First I have no wintry goldwork design at all, now several of you are suggesting additional snowladies :-) ! What an encouraging and inspiring place this is.

Last night I did come up with Permafrost, a bit like Kingfisher's idea, but it doesn't really quite have the sound I want yet. He may end up simply being called Goldwork Snowman :-)

Ordering supplies for him today - I don't care whether the magazine wants him, I've fallen in love with him :-)

We've fallen in love with him too Mabel. No matter what he is to be called he is just GORGEOUS, so cute & appealing as well as pretty & sparkling. So, a Sparkly Snowman as well as a Sparkly Snowlady add up to a very pretty Sparkly Snow Pair & who would not want them in their home at Christmas?

I love all your designs but especially love snowmen/snowladies & penguins at Christmas as they always look very appealing. Anything along those lines appeals to me & no doubt to lots of other people too. I shall be watching this space with interest :D

Right, I've decided - he will be known as Forever Frosty.
I've also added a free-standing fringe to his scarf; this will be attached at the scarf end only, so the ends will be able to move about and look 3D :-)
