That's so sweet -- and I think Paddington is better looking than Gene :-). Does anyone remember (how could you forget?) the Morecambe & Wise version? A classic!

How cute, I had never heard of Morecambe and Wise. My BF just showed me a tv show called manstrokewomen. ...
Oh, and same here, threadbear, I made my BF watch Make 'Em Laugh, too, so I could introduce him to Donald O'Connor! He said, "That guy's like Jim Carrey, with talent!" :P

Ok, next three!!!

Hairspray

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hairspray_(musical)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hairspray_(2007_film)

Fiddler on the Roof
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiddler_on_the_roof
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiddler_on_the_Roof_(film)

As you probably all know, these are all very popular films. I'm giving you the links to both this time, just so you can learn more. And in Hairspray's case, I believe it was a movie, then got turned into a musical, then they made a movie out of the musical...

Also, I ordered a really cute thing online, one for me, one for the winner! Unfortunately, they haven't sent me a message stating it's been shipped yet. Maybe this race will take a bit and then there won't be any delay in sending out the prize!!

Poor Mabel. :( You have a couple more days to catch up! Here are the next three...

Wicked
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicked_(musical)
Sweeney Todd
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeney_To ... _(musical)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeney_To ... 2007_film)
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_and ... _dreamcoat

I have seen Wicked and I LOOOOOVED it. Am dying to see it again before it leaves L.A. in the end of September. I saw the Sweeney Todd movie with Johnny Depp and I hated it. But then I watched a version with Patti Lupone and George Hearn and that was much better. But I haven't seen anything for Joseph, just this. *giggles*

I doubt I'll make it -- none for me today!

I've seen none of these, but Wicked sounds an interesting premise. What is it like musically? Does it compare in style to any of the other musicals on the list?

My Mum absolutely loved the film and swooned over Rossano Brazzi (whom I later swooned over when he played the Professor in Little Women); I never saw it but got to know some of the songs from a CD I found in the library which was a recording of the musical by opera singers, among the José Carreras and Kiri te Kanawa. The music was lovely, the voices were lovely, but alas they didn't really go together. I would really like to see the film some day!

Next three!! Wow, day 8!

The Phantom of the Opera
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Phanto ... 6_musical)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Phanto ... 2004_film)
Annie

Oklahoma
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oklahoma!_(1955_film)

Good luck all! I have seen Phantom on stage at the Pantages, but I was much younger. Also, I have seen Annie and Oklahoma (the movies) several times. I know that every time I say I have seen the movie versions, I say that I have seen them SEVERAL TIMES but it's true! That's all I really watched growing up. :P

I have seen phantom on stage and I really enjoyed but also I do recommend the film recently brought out as it was done with Andrew Lloyd Webbers input as he wrote the original stage version.

I saw the film, too. It was okay, very entertaining, but just not the same as seeing it performed live. It's just not the same experience, and imo, once you've experienced it one way, it's kind of strange to see it performed another way.

But every so often I'll miss the music and pop in the DVD. Plus, he's not bad to look at!

Hello all! I am so sorry to be posting so late!!!
Today is my one day off this week, and I was up late last night, so I slept in a bit. Unfortunately I forgot about the fact that most of you live 8 hours ahead of me!
Here are the next three!

Avenue Q
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avenue_q
Chicago
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_musical
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_(2002_film)
Camelot
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camelot_(musical)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camelot_(film)

I have seen Chicago and Camelot (the movies). I actually watched Chicago last night! I have seen it tons of times so I can recite most of the dialogue and I know all of the words to all of the songs- I really love that movie! And I'd like to see Avenue Q. Those puppets remind me of the comedian Jeff Dunham. I know this is a little tangent, but if you haven't seen this video, take a look!
Achmed the Dead Terrorist

Good luck! Tomorrow is the last day!
