Some WIPs and Finishes - Update 5/13

Post by cindywindy »

Just got back from my vacation and wanted to make good on my promise to show my WIPs and finishes. I'm on my iPad and I'm already in bed, so I'll tease you with only two things tonight.

Here's a Pikmin cross stitch for my nephew. I got the pattern from HappyCupcakeCreation on etsy. I just finished it tonight and will turn it into a pillow. Any tips on how to hand sew a pillow?

Image

Next is a stocking I've been working on since last December for another nephew.

Image

And that's it for tonight. I'll post more pics of my other WIPs and finishes when I find the time. :D

Happy stitching!

Cindy

:whoop: G react projects. If your vacation was half as much fun and happy as those projects seem to be, then sounds like it was a great vacation. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your pics!

Thanks for all your kind words! Here are the rest of my projects:

My first finished cross stitch ever, which was an angel from a Dimensions kit. Now that I think about it, this probably wasn't a good idea for a total beginner. It is in desperate need of reframing.

Image

My second cross stitch project ever was a birth record for my nephew. I edited out his info for my sister.

Image

Wow, I only have 3 finishes in my 2 years of stitching, lol.

Now for my WIPs:

Here's a Mirabilia that I started last June called Roses of Provence. I had to stop because life got in the way, but hopefully I can start stitching on her again in a couple of months.

The next 2 are Dimensions kits.

And this last WIP is from a Bucilla felt stocking kit. I'm nearly done!

Sorry for the horrible quality photos and shadows! I also can't figure out why some pictures are sideways :tantrum: Haha, oh well.

Those are all wonderful. And the angel was your first cross stitch? Wow, very nice; she's so pretty.

I suppose it was my first finished cross stitch. My sister introduced cross stitch to me about 15 years ago, but I never really picked it up until about 2 years ago. Back then, I would start and then just throw away whatever I worked on because my 7 year old self kept miscounting. I really never finished a piece until the angel showed up.

When I finally got back into cross stitch, I thought every cross stitch pattern was the same difficulty. The kit really caught my eye, so I kinda just dove right in, lol. But I got to learn how to bead, couch thread, and how NOT to frame a cross stitch piece. :D
