Wow, that's an amazing job he did. I always feel that certain situations in life tend to affect your health and prevents you from doing what you enjoyed prior to the health issue and you find other alternative activities to help occupy your time. The majority don't cause they'd feel they lack the talent. My grandmother raised me and during that time my uncle was with us and he had muscular dystrophy yet he managed to build models, paint by number, crochet and any thing he could do to work with his hands. He would have loved cross stitch back in the 1950's. I watched my whole family be creative and make the most of their time doing what they enjoyed. Wheelchair bound Alan Bramely is an inspiration to see he has turned a bad experience in his life and turned out a beautiful piece of work. Someone contact this guy and ask him to join the forum. He's an asset to the group.

Here's a video interview with him.

Thanks for the video link, Leroy. What a talented and humble man he is, and his wife is rightfully proud.

I searched more online, that's when I found the video. He is computer savvy cause he designed the Napoleon stitch work, so I'm sure there's a way to contact him. Will take some time tho. It would be great to have him on here. I'm sure it would make him feel good to be asked to join. We appreciate a stitchers that are dedicated to the hobby.

I had a fast look around, and didn't come up with anything I'd trust. I suppose one could get in touch with ITV and ask if they'd send a message on, since there wasn't a comment thread for the piece?

Edit: Guess I'll send a message to viewer services...

Edit 2: I conferred with the mods, and we all agreed it would be a good idea, so I've sent off an email to congratulate Mr Bramley on his accomplishment, and to invite him to look us up.

Much appreciated. He'd be an inspiration to all and his work in progress with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth I during the Spanish Armada. Only way I could see to be able to contact him is thru where he then buys all of his materials from Abakhan in Mostyn. Being in the states I'm not familiar where Mostyn or contacting Daily Post. I'm sure he'd appreciate the support after all he's been thru. His wife would be thrilled as well. She's very proud of the accomplishment.

Really impressive what he achieved. I am already eager to see the Queen Elizabeth one... Just another example that shows what a great past time cross stitching can be... :applesauce:
