Post by Midge »

I thought I'd share a bit of Pergamano or parchment craft with you.
This is what I'm doing if I'm not stitching :D

What beautiful cards, almost like lace, and the flowers are gorgeous! What sort of paint can you use on the parchment?

Thanks for all your lovely comments.
The colouring is done with pencil crayons and all the white work is done with embossing and perforating tools.
Here are a couple of links :-

I hope soem of you try it. Patience is required but if you can stitch, you can parch.

You can buy pergamano starter kits for approx £10 or $20ish.
That would include paper a couple of basic tools and a mat and the patterns then if you like it you can build up your stash. Lots of items can be found on e-bay.
Now I have most things for this craft, the only thing i need to buy is the parchment paper itself so each piece only costs pennies.
I hope some of you try it out.

After showing this section to Lee's mum, who loves card making and doing atcs, she was like i have always wanted to try this out (she was on about it for ages that she wanted to try this out) and when we went out to a craft store she took the dive and bought some things to get her started not only did she do that but she booked herself in to a class at Topaz just down the road from us to get some tips and things.

This is a craft that I have been buying the stash to do and will be able to start soon. Do you have any tips on what to be aware of, things to avoid, things that have worked out well etc.
