Re: Forever friends

Post by Angel »

Well it's four hours travel down to London, then I have to somehow get from Victoria to kings cross which I have no idea how to do on my own, find a train that takes me to...the next town over that I can't remember the name of....then it's an hours walk to their town.

It costs £20 for Jayms to do a round trip into London, and he has a student card, so I don't know how much that is for me. In short, visiting is not something one can feasibly do for a single day :P

I'm contemplating booking a holiday for the start of October and going down for a week and leaving the present there for him to give for me. I don't know when I'm next able to see him.

^_^ Yeah, although I'm slightly dubious of one of the colours. That yellow brown doesn't seem to work very well....

Looks fine on my screen, but then the colours never seem to look the same on the screens as they do in real life do they.
You are making great progress on him anyway ... and the cake still looks YUMMY!

Poor Angel, I'm sorry you get to see him so rarely and it's such a trek -- I hope you'll manage to get that holiday and that you'll have a lovely "catching-up" time together!

It doesn't look too different on screen actual, it's just...it seems like five shades lighter instead of just one. Maybe it's just me, and maybe after the backstitch it'll be fine.

I'll work out how to get it to her somehow. I hope.

I've only just caught up with this its looking wonderful. You could take her frame shopping with you when you are down there? I know it wouldn't be a surprise then but she may enjoy being involved in the finishing touches too!

Angel, what are the numbers of the two shades that differ so much? if you're really not happy with it you may choose to do it in a different shade -- and just in case you thing I'm suggesting frogging the whole shade  , you could just do half crosses in a slightly darker shade over the top -- it would look a bit like blended threads, and you wouldn't have to unpick anything, but you may feel better about the way it looks then.

So now Jayms has left me, I will not be seeing his mum again. And I don't know his actual address to send it. What should I do?

Here's another progress picture:

Angel, apart from the practical problem of her address (perhaps the telephone directory could help, if her name is something not too common?) it depends on how much you liked his mother and also why -- did you like her because she is Jayms' mother, or as a separate person? If the latter, and if you can find her address, then I think I'd still send it to her, to show that her son's behaviour does not affect your feelings for her. But you must do what feels right for you -- perhaps you would prefer to stitch this for someone else special in your life, like your own mother. Good luck in finding the right answer for you!

You know how to contact Jayms via Facebook (I think). Couldn't you ask him for his mum's address? You could always fib and say it is so you can send her a Christmas card?

Just a thought.

Teddy is so cute. I would say if you still have feelings for Jayme's mom then you should finish this for her. But only you can decide what to do. And how you will feel doing it.

Your project's really doing great! :applesauce:  :applesauce:

I've been friends with the mother of one of my past boyfriends...and it's really surprising that eventhough we've parted ways (with her son)...we have remained friends. If that's what you feel with Jayms mom it's just right to send this as a gift to her since you made it really for her in the first place. I won't care what jayms will say or feel since it's your relationship with his mother that matters.

You're in the best position to decide about this...I just shared my thoughts and hope that it will help you in any way. I really feel this is a rather complicated matter as you're caught between mixed thoughts and feelings...I'm just hoping that you'll be able to sort it all out and at the end of it all you'll still have happy smiles... :) :) :)

Take the best of care!
