Hi,

Anyone have experience with these kits? I was looking online & I see a couple I would like but the description just says "quality fabric" but doesn't say what type. I'm hesitant to purchase without knowing first.

The designs are sure beautiful! I have no experience with these kits so I can't offer any advice. I did a few searches and found one sight that lists the fabric as 16 ct Aida.

I did that too, I searched the internet. 16 count seems unique, I usually see 14 or 18 count. The designs look stunning. I'm glad to find out its aida, when I see kits with linen, I'm afraid of them. I think I'm gonna definitely buy one, although I have sooooo many kits & so many WIP's. Lol

What's one more design added to your stash, right? I agree 16 ct is rare in a kit. I usually see 14 or 18 ct. I have stitched on 16 ct and I liked it. Be sure and post your progress on the SAL so we can follow along!
Linen can be quite intimidating and challenging at first but once you get used to it, it's not so bad :D

I'm stopping at the craft store tomorrow, I'm hoping they have one, so I can see it in person. I've done 18 ct, so I'm assuming I won't have trouble with 16 ct. Looking at the Maia kits online, they seem like they would be a higher count, maybe the pic is just deceiving.

I'll let you know if I see any in person tomorrow.

I bought a Maia kit a few years ago and was disappointed as I did not think the fabric matched the colours and had to replace the fabric but my friend has just done a beautiful one with lovely fabric and colours. If you are calling in the shop have a look and see what you think

I've done the Maia Winter Sunset, it used 16 ct and was good quality Aida, there was lots of back stitching and tent stitch and drove me mad, but it came out very well, it's one of my husband's favourites

The only Maia kit I had was fabulous: well put together, the fabric was fine, instructions easy to follow. And boxed up really nicely.

I've not stitched one, but it have several in my stash, and they look to be great quality. I don't know how essay or hard the charts are, but they are nothing like Dimmensions Gold charts which is only ever a plus for me!!!

It would be good to have a closer look if you can.

Well, back from the craft store & sad. They didn't have any Maia kits. :(

So, I'm gonna order one online. I was going to order from 123stitch, unless anyone here has a better site.

I am working on Maia's Souls Flight.I changed the fabric to a handdyed but from memory the original was 16 or 18 Aida.
The chart is very well drawn,no ambiguous symbols.Plenty of floss.

I've seen that one several times in my on-line browsing and have always been drawn to it. I can't wait to see updates you'll be posting.

Their kits are gorgeous, never bought one myself so can't talk about the Aida quality, but I did get the chart from a kit a friend had done and the quality of the chart itself was great, easy to read symbols, although it did have lots of quarter stitches.
