Ainjel's SAL-Indian Chief-FINISHED

Post by Ainjel333 »

Well I have started the Indian Chief for my FIL. It's supposed to be a Christmas present but I am not confident at all about getting it finished in time.

Hubby has great faith in me that I can, but I'm realistically thinking that it will be a late gift, although I am working on it every minute ,practically, that I get. He says if I don't get it finished in time, we will give him a card telling him Santa got stuck in the snow with his gift, so it will be late.

Here's what it will look like when finished:

And here's where I'm at on the first page after about 4 days (not sure how much actual stitching time):

Great start, an ambitious goal (680 stitches a day!) but we will all be here to cheer you on!

Thank you all for your encouragement :D
I really do not realistically see this getting done until a really late Christmas gift.
Right now, hubby thinks it's going quickly, but the background is lots of solid chunks of color (no confetti)...looking ahead at the chief himself I just @rotfl: thinking 'Christmas--yeah right'. There is alot of confetti especially in the face.
This is my first big project that will be finished....since I've not finished anything this big before, my guesstimate of time is worthless.

It's 170 x 201 stitches, it originally says to use 14 count, but I'm using 18 count, so it is going to be 9 1/2 inches by 14 1/4 inches when finished. It's only 9 pages...only? well, I have a couple of Haeds I haven't even started yet-so that's not many pages compared to those...

Oh, and I failed to mention that my printer went cupoot on me so I can't print the pattern-I am doing it on my tablet (which is not an ipad-it's a toshiba thrive- not sure how much easier an ipad would be), but after an hour of trying to figure out how to mark off my stitches I made  , I also do not have a stylus so my markings look like a kindergartener is doing that for me and it's really slowing me down. Luckily I have a stylus on the way. :D

I'm still going to stitch like crazy on it, but you all are right-it will be late. But I do know he will love it. :D

You are flying through ... if you maintained this pace it is a possibility that it would be finished by Christmas. Anyway it's a wonderful picture and I think worth the wait if there is one.
