Hi Jan, welcome to the forum; there's lots to enjoy here, from asking for tips and advice to showing your work to people who know the time and love and effort that have gone into it, and from sharing great ideas to moaning about Mr :ribbit: (don't worry, you'll come accross him :-)). Do join the SAL thread and show us some of your work in progress, and of course a gallery of your finished triumphs!

Thank you for your warm welcome ladies. I have been doing a lot of paper craft cards and scrap booking but have gone right off of it. Having a good sort out and organising threads etc.

I have been very good and finished some ufo's. Also found a local stitching group that meets once a month.

I will have to work out how to put photo's on here and join the stitch along.

Welcome from the West of Scotland. You are indeed fortunate to have found a group of stitchers. It's really a lot of fun when you can get together in person. We, however, might be a virtual group stitching together, but we have a lot of fun, too. Jump right in, the water's fine... !

I have not been to the real group yet. I found the advert in a cross stisch mag. It turns out that the lady runs the club lives opposite my uncle . They only charge £1. It is held every third wednesday evening. Mum and I are going to go along in may.

Have a feeling I am going to be visiting here often 8)

By the way who is Mr frog.

Hello Jan and welcome to the forum. I started the same way as you recently. Got bored with Scrapbooking and found my old cross stitch projects. I managed to finish one that I started about 12 years ago and have now become totally hooked on this craft again, spending any free time I can find stitching. Hope to see some of you Work In Progress soon.

Mr Frog is a very bad little guy that everyone gets a visit from at one time or another. It came about from the term rip it out. The rip-it rip-it sounds like the noise that a frog makes and so it became known as frogging when you have to remove some of your very hard work. Mostly due to miscounting or two symbols that look very much alike and you used the wrong color.

We do not like Mr :ribbit: ....he is very bad.

 A video of me last night would have shown exactly how that goes, I was hit by the little green monster :ribbit:
Two symbols, so alike, but so different, she was clear and bright, he was dark and mysterious  sorry, had to laugh or I would have screamed, I managed to save the day, just snipped the centre stitch of one patch and darned in the loose ends, the rest was quite easy to get at :D
