:D I knew there was a reason that I love Arthurian legend and many of the books and stories that have grown from it. Tintagel had to be one of my picks. Now I'm up to 2/10 and enjoying this Bingo very much!

No personal photos today! Been to both places but can't track photos down.

Numbers 1 and 25

Number 1 - Bude

A town on the North Coast. It is one of the first places that you come to when you cross from Devon to Cornwall along this stretch of coast.
There are a number of great beaches close by most of which are very good for surfing. In fact Summerleeze beach is apparently known by Australian surfers as ‘the bondi of Britain’. So the town is full of both large and smalls shops geared up to the surfers who come down in their thousands.
In the past it was known for wreckers who used to come and scavenge for anything they could find off the ships that were often wrecked on the reefs outside the harbour.
There is also a sea water swimming pool on the beach which is refilled every time there is a high tide. There is often talk of this having to close but so far the locals have managed to keep it open.

Image

And this is the pool, as you can see it is still full of sea water and gets lovely and warm on a summer's day.

Number 25 St Mawes

St Mawes is a small town opposite Falmouth, on the Roseland Peninsula on the south coast of Cornwall. It has become well known for sailing and it has a reputation as a very wealthy area. The houses all have wonderful views and cost a huge amount. Because it is on the end of a peninsula it is quite a long drive to it and there is no where else to go so is exclusive.
There is a foot passenger ferry across to Falmouth and a small chain car ferry a bit further up the coast.

And looking out to sea from the village.

I have a friend who lives here and she has now been promising to take me out for a cream tea locally for the past three years. I really must take her up on it soon!

:( none today. Still at 2/10 :) for the lovely pictures, though I do miss the personal ones as they do give the locations a special "live" feel. I've got to get to Great Britain one day. So many places I want to see.

We visited Bude last year...it was lovely but we didn't go into the pool!

I haven't been to St. Mawes though, must remedy that as it looks beautiful and it is another pick for me!

Numbers 26 and 5

Number 26 ~ Mevagissy

The village nestles in a small valley and faces east to Mevagissey Bay. There are actually two harbours, an inner and an outer and they are busy with a mixture of pleasure vessels and working fishing boats, the remains of a once major industry. However, tourism has supplanted fishing as the dominant industry in recent years.

Mevagissey village centre consists of narrow streets with many places to eat and shops aimed at the tourist trade. The outer areas are built on the steep slopes of the surrounding hillsides and are mostly residential. You can drive right into the village if you dare as you have to have nerves of steel. In some places the streets are not even wide enough to pass pedestrians of which there are thousands in the summer.

In the first picture you cna see the double harbour

Number 6 ~ Padstow
The town is situated on the west bank of the River Camel estuary approximately five miles northwest of Wadebridge, ten miles northwest of Bodmin and ten miles northeast of Newquay. On the opposite bank is the village of Rock. A very popular place for the rich and famous. It is near there that David Cameron holidays with his family and is where they were staying 3 years or so ago when their daughter was born. Prince Harry is often seeing partying there as well.
Padstow is probably now most famous for having a restaurant and cafes owned by Rick Stein. Not all the locals are overly happy at his takeover and it is oftern known as Padstein.
Having said that it is yet another one of Cornwall’s beautiful little fishing towns.

Finally I'm out of the starting blocks with good old Meva! Hated that place when I was little as every time my grandparents came down from up country we had to go there and trawl around all the shops which is never fun when you are little! I like it now - but only brave it out of season before all the emmets arrive :) !

None for me today holding at 4/10.

I love Padstow.....if we happen to be in Cornwall we always go there for fish and chips and eat them outside sitting by the marina watching the lovely boats! (Never been to Rick Steins café though...probably a bit too expensive for me!)
