:D YAY! I got both today so I have doubled my picks to 4/10. Wonderful pictures. Looked up Rick Stein since it was obvious that y'all across the pond knew him. I would guess that his restaurant isn't a fish and chips kind of place? Cornwall is looking more and more inviting each day. Absolutely beautiful!

Aggh. Just done all tonights number and went to post it and it logged me out. :tantrum:
Numbers 12 and 21

Number 12 ~ Godrevy
One of my favourite places ever. We used to come here a lot before I was ill and loved it so when I was in Intensive Care my partner used to help me by imagining that that is where we were. It got me through many a long hour. Then when I was well enough to be taken for a trip out he drove me up before I had to go back to hospital and then when I was finally home again and out of a wheelchair we went there for one of our first walks and I then admitted that I thought I would never see it again.
That’s it really. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Image
Skitzz has done me a pattern of this design which I am yet to start.

My first visit after i could walk again.

These two go as a pair. Taken from the same position, looking out to the sunset one way and then looking inland at the moon the other.

Number 21 ~ The Lizard

. The Lizard is a peninsula in south Cornwall. Everyone has heard of Land’s End but what a lot of people don’t realize that Land’s end is the most south westerly point of the UK but the Lizard is the most southerly. I remember staying near here as a little girl and it was a foggy week so we had the foghorn on the lighthouse at Lizard point going of constantly. The Lizard's coast is particularly hazardous to shipping and the seaways round the peninsula were historically known as the "Graveyard of Ships"

Sorry I have been a bit self indulgent tonight!

The Lizard brings me up to 4/10! I can't see the pictures because work blocks photo sharing sights, but I'll look when I get home.

Nothing today as far as my picks go, but who cares when there are such lovely pictures to see! I think a little self-indulgence is allowed, especially since this place has such special meaning to you. Which is very understandable.

Numbers 10 and 9

Number 10 ~ Portreath
Another place we love as it used to be our nearest beach before we moved to S Austell last year.
It is a village and fishing port on the north coast of Cornwall and is about three miles (5 km) northwest of Redruth. It extends along both sides of a stream valley and is centred around the harbour and beach. West of the harbour entrance and breakwater are two sandy beaches which are popular with holidaymakers and surfers. It also lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
It’s a beautiful sandy beach popular with both surfers and families and the village has a real community atmosphere.

The harbour wall at the other end. A spectacular place in a storm!

Number 9 ~ St Agnes
This is a large village on the north coast of Cornwall. St Agnes Beacon overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is considered "the most prominent feature" of the Heritage coastline, with coastal and inland views that may be enjoyed during hillside walks. "Beacon" is a word of Anglo-Saxon origin referring to the use of a hill summit for a warning signal fire. During the Napoleonic Wars a guard was stationed on the hill to look out for French ships and light a warning fire on seeing any.
Rather than fishing this area was used more for tin mining and dotted around the surrounding countryside are many distinctive disused tin mines which look quite romantic now but I’m sure they weren’t for the people who worked them.
