One I must finish!
Well here's my current wip (providing I upload the image correctly - I'm still a learner ).
Unfortunately I can't take all the credit as I am finishing this for someone else. They have done the character's down the left hand side. I have done the circle and the characters above and below and still have all the characters to do down the right hand side and the name etc in the middle.
It's a really nice project to work on though - I love the use of colours - particularly after the last piece I did was only a limited range of colours (I will put a pic of that on the gallery soon if I can).
Will post another pic soon when I have made some more progress.

What count aida are you working on there - it looks pretty small!

thanks nicgoss, it's on 18 count. The last few I have done (finished or otherwise ) have been on 14count so it makes a nice change but what with the size and some very similar colours I need good light to work on it!
I've just had a look at your wip - the leopard cub is stunning - you must be so proud of it. How long do you think it will take you to finishit.

It does look really effective on the smaller count aida, but I agree it isn't the easiest! My next project is on 22ct aida!
Make sure you keep us up to date on this project - can't wait to see the finished result
Thanks Unfinished ! I'm hoping to finish in the next month or so! But that may be aiming a bit high!I've just had a look at your wip - the leopard cub is stunning - you must be so proud of it. How long do you think it will take you to finishit.

This is such a sweet design! The 18 count must make it hard work, but worth it in the end!! I mainly stick to 14 and sometimes get brave and use 16 count ! I love the detail, Its going to look great when it finished-Well done!!

Oh this is lovely! The little colourful characters must give you a feeling of 'completed' each time you see one finished. A lovely project to do.

Re: One I must finish!
Thanks all for all the encouragement. As a newbie it's great to get and has motivated me to do more - I have already completed the rabbit at the top which is now two rabbits folding a pretty blanket. I'm not sure which of the books they're from but they are quite sweet.
I am now onto a mouse from the 'Taylor of gloucester' in the top right hand corner. I shall post another image after the weekend when there is more progress to show hopefully
It is a birth announcement although I still need to create my pattern for the words - I've got some graph paper and thought I'd map it out on that - is that the best way to do it

Re: One I must finish!
Good luck with the lettering! Graph paper is certainly a good way of doing it. As most of my projects are small and I like large-symbol charts, I tend to do my designs on paper with 5mm squares, or I use a computer program where I zoom in until it's the size i like working at, but the best thing is just to try a few ways and see which works for you.

Re: One I must finish!
Graph Paper is a fine way to do it make sure you count the area that you have to work with so you don't make the letters to big or to small. I have a computer program call PC Pro and I can adjust the size there automatically. If you get into google and do a search you can find some other programs to and lots of them have demos you can download. The only thing is you would have to do the pattern in one sitting as you can not save on the demos and then come back and finish later. But once you get it done then you can print it off. If you intend to do many patterns yourself you may want to invest in a program for yourself they can be very helpful.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror
