Needles.

Post by ~threadbear~ »

Just wondering how everyone stores their needles?
I am hopefully being given a gift of gold plated needles (sizes 24, 26, 28 ... as I am told these cover the most likely aida counts I will be using). I think there are appx 15 of each size. So how do you store them?
Did you make your own needle work cases, did you buy an organiser or use a box or what?

Just looking for idea's really.
Thanks.

I store my favorites in a needle case I made using 3" fabric squares, lined with felt. they are very cute squares, with a design called 'Fancy Cats'
Any other needles I keep in the packets so I know the size.

At the moment I store most of the needles in the little ziplock bags they came in, and about three of each stuck into a piece of aida in my project box... but as I said I'm thinking of making a needlecase with that small iris design. Or I may treat myself to one of Textile Heritage's lovely kits, which include all the felt and a tassel and what have you, and there's a lovely tulips-and-Delft-blue design.

My gold needles came in a tiny, handy tube. Lucky me!

I leave my needles in the packet they came in and store them in the top of the box I keep my floss in. The ones that I am using. I have 2 in the process right now as I am doing so much confetti stitching. These are in a pin cushion thqt I have glued to the frame that holds the magnetic board my patterns are attached to.

Hmm, so probably be best to wait and see what they come in first and then decide on storage from there.
I like the idea of a nice box, but then you can make some lovely needle cases too....

I'm in the group that leaves most in their original packaging and only have a couple in play at a time.

My friend sent me 2 little wooden tubes and I store them in there - I have got a needle case my friend sent me from the US but I forget which size is which - must be my age!
