Little Snap Dragon-Finished!!!

Post by Fizzbw »

I've been preparing for this one for a while. I've got some hand dyed polstiches fabric, "chestnut" for it and all the floss is american hand dyed silk that matches the DMC colours. I'll do it two over two on the 28count fabric. It's going to be for me and my family for a change!

Here are some of the silks on the fabric:

I'm still umming and erring about whether to grid with the fishing line or not, at the moment I've not done it as there is no need for haste and I'm going to see if I can cope with just counting well!! We'll see!!!!

The fabric doesn't come out very well in these pictures, but it's a rich chestnut colour and it's got gold sparkles in it, I think this pic shows it the best:

A couple of hours work, slow going so far, but the silks are a dream to work with:

:applesauce: How PRETTY! (both your stitching & the design) :applesauce:

U.S. Silks...never heard of them....did you find them on-line? (I'm interested in learning about alternatives to DMC; not that there's anything wrong with DMC, just looking for variety!)

Thanks, I've been itching to do these since I saw him on an old bingo thread!

The silks are from here:

But I think she is discontinuing them? Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I love this piece, and what a nice start. It is a shame about the HDF... but that will be an excellent project to show them off.

Do people get bored of too many pics?

Here is the first bit of the dragon finished. He's so sweet. Utterly in love with the silks. The fabric takes a bit of concentration mainly due to the opalescent threads but very much worth it. Now seriously considering kitting up another project before these silks are no more....
