He Uttered the Worst Words a Stitcher Can Hear

Post by lacemaker2004 »

He did it....he said it.....

My husband of 20 some years has finally betrayed me.....when asked what was on the agenda for today I told him there's a trunk sale down at Ye Olde Cross Stitchery that I want to hit but need him to come with me......he....he....he said "don't you think you have enough cross stitch stuff?"....... :?:

Oh, Oh...
That' the most serious offence! I wonder what I would do if my husband told me such a thing.
:(
I have just asked him, and he said he would take me anywhere I wanted to buy cross stitch stuff..

Will you make him pay for such a shocking, blatantly untrue, statement?

So far my husband has never indicated that I have to much and I have a whole room full of different crafts. If he did say it I would have to take a long look at what is in my stash.

Dreadful man! (;)) I think he needs a severe punishment for saying such a shocking statement! Hit him where it hurts most ... squarely in the wallet!! (at the sale).

Just joking! Have a great time at the sale and don't forget a full report will be expected once you're back home.

He dares to intimate that you might -- might, mark you -- have too much stash. I am absolutely appalled. And he lives? What restraint! You will undoubtedly need therapy (oops, no, you did go to the sale, so that's covered). Should this doubt ever creep into his mind again, perhaps you might enquire, in your turn, exactly why he is keeping three screwdrivers of the same size? Or why he felt it necessary to squirrel away yet another bit of wood. Oh! It might come in handy. Yes. Exactly. :thinks:

Now wait a minute, maybe the man was not feeling well, or had a fever, or something when he uttered those words! Lets not be to quick to judge until we get all the facts! Only then we can string him up, and not feel guilty about it!!

Well, I did just look blankly at him and reframed from reminding him of all the boxes that have been arriving with his name on it from the BBQ store....not to mention that when they called when he wasn't home to say they were out of a particular wood he had ordered for the smoker I, being the wonderful wife I am, gave them a substitute and then added three additional types to the order......too much stash! Well, we just saw about that!

I'm back here's the take...
2 Christmas designs (one to make for my step aunt)
2 Sweetheart Tree kits (Don't bug me I'm stitching door hanger for my step mother's new craft room and the Cherry Blossom biscornu for me!
5 pieces of fabric including an 18x26 piece of opalescent hand-dyed in Iris (lots of turquoise, blues, and purple)

Not too bad a haul! and he's off waiting for the race to start.

I have been chuckling at all the posts in this subject! Thank goodness you were able to cajole some more stash!!

When we moved here to France from the UK an awful lot of 'stuff' went to charity shops and the dump! Including (and I still mutter about this!) a large box of pieces of fabric and wool. When our belongings were delivered here there was..........
A LARGE BOX OF OFF-CUTS OF WOOD
Guess who that belonged to???

I saw a nice book the other day too and D/H told me I had enough cross stitch books.

When can we ever have ENOUGH??????

Why is it '101'? You see this mentioned on lots of American shows and I've never understood why! :?:
