DMC Art 117

Post by ~threadbear~ »

I was having a look around for floss and found a 'LOT' of DMC Art 117 floss for sale, assorted colours.
100 skeins. Floss job lot
Very good feedback on it ...and if it is okay, might be helpful to some of you as well?

None for sale at moment, but seems to come up regularly. I was just trying to build up a little stash for myself.

I was just wondering whether the Art 117 was meant to tell me something as I don't want to jump in thinking I got a bargain only to find out it isn't what I think it is. ( ) Also, if this isn't the bargain I think it is, please tell me!

Thanks.

Hi Threadbear,
I am pretty sure it is the normal DMC thread, I googled a bit and found nothing to suggest it may be different. rather confusing though.

Oh excellent!! Thanks for the help everyone.
That works out around 20p per skein as well and they combine postage.
I think I'll keep an eye out for them relisting more now then, 'cos that DMC site seems to show that it's the right threads for cross stitch. and this ebayer seems to get batches of different threads often.

Hope it might help some of you to get a bargain lot as well.

OR ...........

there's this one: Anchor floss for 100 skeins of anchor threads.
That one works out at appx 16p per skein.

Is DMC/Anchor on a par or is one a better thread than the other?

:thinks:

I'm supposing you can't mix them but have to keep in one make or another on a project?

They are both very good, reliable threads. I wouldn't mix them because their weights are slightly different, but then, if I didn't have the range of choices I currently enjoy, who knows! I always use DMC floss by choice, but have lots of Anchor threads from various kits. Both do the job.
