you have taken your stitching where?????

Post by T1Pumper »

I have seen people stitch at church. Myself, the oddest place for me would be the movie theater. It was a kid movie and I knew I would be bored and the kids would be in the front sections. You?

I bring my stitching with me all over the place. Never in a movie theather though.. how did you see it??
Airports, in my car, a park, coffee shop, work. I once threatened to bring it with me to a baseball game but I wasn't serious- I just wanted the reaction of the person I was going with.

Everywhere!!
I always have a couple of small projects in my bag in case of emergencies and for when I'm on the bus and can't carry the whole nine yards with me. I've stitched on the bus, at Symphony Hall (before the music starts, not while they're playing), I always take it to ballet on Saturdays when I'm hanging around of a couple of hours while my 2 girls have ballet lessons. I also bring my big projects to work so I can get in an hour at lunchtime, complete with frame, needle organiser etc. I discovered plastic bacon storage boxes from Dunelm which are perfect for transporting the Paco needle organisers, so now I just snap on the lid and throw it into my bag. Marvellous!!!!

I only stitch at home, at the most I've stitched at a friend's house while we spent the afternoon watching movies. I don't take it with me on flights 'cus security wouldn't let my scissors in anyway.

I have take my stitching pretty much everywhere I go. Car , football practice, after school clubs, on airplanes, to a hockey game(I had a present I wanted to finish and it had a single color and a simple design) so pretty much everywhere. Not to work though as I get way to dirty there and would ruin anything I touched grease gets on my clothes and would rub off on to the fabric.

I typically only stitch at home. In the past I have taken projects with me to the hospital when I knew I'd be sitting around, waiting, for a long time. I do take my book everywhere with me though. Just in case. :)

Ah yes, stitching is a home hobby for me, but reading it's a everywhere I'll be waiting without someone talking to me, so I have a book in bag every time I leave the house.

The only place I've taken mine (so far) is church. I knew I would have to wait till after choir practice for my ride home, so while they practiced, I stitched. I figured that it was kinder for everyone's ears for me to sew and not sing LOL.

Home, visiting relatives (more on that in a minute), airport/ airplane, waiting for FIL at dialysis.

My MIL is also not well, she has Cancer and is homebound. She is an amazing artist (painter), but can't paint anymore due to her illness and medications. She LOVES when I bring my stitching over, and I love stitching at her house, she has a nice big dining table where I can spread out, and a table ott-lamp for me to use. She says she loves to watch me stitch, it relaxes her and reminds her of painting!

Mostly I stitch at home, but always take it with on vacation. Have stitched at the beach, but small projects because sand blows around so much. Have stitched at the airport while waiting to get on the plane. Always have a book in my purse and my iPod with audiobooks and a few games for waiting other places.

Mine goes most places with me - I stitch every commute on the train, I've stitched at work, home, relative's houses, on planes, in hotel rooms. I've been tempted in church, but haven't succumbed :D Like others, always have a book handy for times when stitching isn't practical.
