Finished pouch

Post by Mabel Figworthy »

I had some mending to do (would you belive I've just darned a 40-year-old sock -- it's one of DH's school socks andeven still has his name tag in it :-)) so decided to finish the Japanese folded purse as well. Sewed on the last small rose, attached ribbons and buttons and here it is:

The big rose is a bit too raggedy for my taste, I keep wanting to cut all the frayed bits off :-), but I like the overall effect of the purse and may well be making a few more if I can find a nice fabric!

It is looking great. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: I like the rose as it is, but I assume it is not very practical to have ragged edges if you actually want to use it.

It looks gorgeous. I'd be the same with the ragged bits on the rose if it were mine, but looking at yours it looks beautiful. I think it's a matter of perspective ;)

Darning  Don't think I'd know where to begin, let alone on a 40 yr old sock.

Beautiful finish on the pouch :applesauce: :applesauce:

I love it! One similar in a wide wallet shape would make a nice accessory to a casual chic look. Something very simple, not much jewelry, and BAM! a beautiful pouch like that. :D
