I'm up to date with the show as well and was irritated no end by the silly changes made for the season 4 premiere last week, hopefully they'll sort it out through the season though and I really hope they do fully the Dead to the World book plots, at least where Sookie and Eric are concerned as that is my favorite book to date.

11. Felipe de Castro
23. Bon Temps

Felipe de Castro is a vampire and King of Nevada with ambitions to take over the territories of Louisiana and Arkansas. This character hasn’t yet appeared in the TV show.

Bon Temps is a fictional town in Louisiana and the home of most of the main characters in the Southern Vampires series. It supposedly lies somewhere between the real cities of Shreveport and Monroe.

ps I downloaded the first book today(audio version), so once I finish what I'm listening to now(Silent on the Moor by Deanna Rayburn) that is what is next on my list (actually, I've moved it to the top of a too long list)

Sookie Stackhouse is a telepathic barmaid from Louisiana and about twenty-five years old at the beginning of the Southern Vampire Mysteries series. Friendly and caring, she can be relied on by friends and family, no matter what. Don’t underestimate her – she’s feisty! She’s played by Anna Paquin in the TV show.

Dead to the World is the fourth book in the series
Sookie aids vampires Eric and Pam in their struggle against a coven of witches seeking to take over control of their area, and takes care of Eric after the witches erase his memory. This is the favourite of the series for most fans of the books due to a certain shower scene and the fact that it features a LOT of Eric. We're all hoping season 4 sticks pretty closely to the book!

Russell Edgington is the vampire king of Mississippi. In the books, he is openly gay and marries another vampire king, Bartlette Crowe of Indiana to political advantage, despite having a regular human companion, Talbot (who is a vampire too in the TV show). He’s played by Denis O’Hare in the TV show.

Fangtasia is a vampire bar in Shreveport and is owned by Eric Northman. It’s a popular hangout for vampires and fang-bangers (those humans who, ahem, “love” vampires) and is often packed.

8. Lafayette Reynolds

Lafayette Reynolds is the flamboyantly gay cook at Merlotte’s. He’s a very minor character in the books (in fact, he only appears in the first one!), but is a regular character on the TV show, where he supplements his income by illegally selling V (vampire blood drained from living vampires – it’s incredibly addictive and causes an increase in strength as well as some hallucinations in its users). He’s played by Nelsan Ellis in the TV show.

Shreveport is the third-largest city and the principal city of the fourth largest metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Louisiana. Yup, it’s a real place – it just happens to feature in the books and TV show every now and then, being the closest city to the fictional Bon Temps.
