hhheeelllpppp dmc flower thread

Post by lacemaker2004 »

Hi Ladies,
I'm getting ready for Sharon B's stitching class and she calls for flower thread. While I've heard of it, I've never seen it. What is it equivalent to? HELP!!!

Hope it helps somewhat.

Don't panic!

Flower thread is a lovely soft cotton matte thread. Looks great it you are looking for an old-fashioned appearance. DMC used to make flower thread, but I think it has been discontinued.

Here are a couple of conversion charts, depending on whose flower thread you are using:

Yeah Serinde has saved us :P I had never heard of that thread either. Good to have so many different people who know so much and can bail out us less informed.

Oh thanks! I knew one of you would know! Thanks You're wonderful! I'll keep you all posted on the class.

I had checked my lace thread comparison books and it seemed to be close to DMC floss but wasn't sure about it. I had checked the web and came up with comflicting information that it was same size as two strands of floss.
