A ROW OF LOVE DIMENSIONS GOLD HELP!!

I have just started Dimensions Row of love cross stitch and I have been using 2 strands. But I can see the fabric behind the stitching.other cross stitching I have done I could not see the fabric. Could anyone tell me if this is right or do I need to use 3 strands. Thanks
