Sara's Train of Dreams (Wk 5) (new Pic on Pg 5)

Post by Loopy »

Yep, last night I officially started my first HAED. "Train of Dreams".

I'm stitching full crosses on 25ct lugana, 2 over 1.

I've partially gridded (I'll just grid as I go I reckon, couldn't be stuffed doing the whole piece).

Will add a photo tomorrow of day 1 progress, so you can watch it grow with me :)

I remember you talking about this in the tips and tricks section and I think it's a georgous design. I can't wait to see it come together.

Good idea with the gridding... I've been gridding my You and I HAED for like a week now -____- and I'm only 3/4 done... But at least when I'm done I'm done.

Cant wait to see a photo!

Okay - this is the first nights progress - doesn't look much but I am so wrapped because I can see the top of the spine of the first book on the bookshelf :)

This is the first time I've ever gridded fabric and it really does make a difference - takes some of the angst away :)

Loving it and will post regular updates if, for nothing else, I have a record of my progress :)

Last night I worked on the spine of the second book - and I have fallen in love with HAED - I love love love how the detail and intricate colour changes just bring the design to life so quickly - I am used to doing patterns with loads and loads of backstitching (DMC Gold Collection), etc which means that my designs don't actually 'pop' until you have finished them - but this is just brilliant and makes working on them a real pleasure.

And I'm happy that the design of chosen doesn't have loads and loads of background - I think I could see a lot of block stitching a bit mundane - this has just the right amount of block stitching to do when you want to 'switch off' but not that much that it becomes a chore :)
