Prop Covers

Post by Rose »

As some of you know I work with my husband and we rebuild V12 Rolls Royce Motors for WW II Airplanes. Well for the last 2 days I have been measuring, designing and sewing, propellor covers for the new prop we hope to use on the race plane up at Reno Air Races this year. No time to stitch my Christmas presents but I did get them done and they look OK for the machine I have and thickness of the covers. I just have a basic quilting machine and the covers are made with upholstery material which is rather thick when you go to hem it and then adding velcro to attach them. I am rather proud I was able to get these done so quickly. So this is just a pat on the back for me.

I'd love to see pictures of them, Rose. I've showed my husband and son your website because they are airplane crazy. They used to fly the huge model airplanes until my son got colleged age and too busy.

Yes it was the little sewing machine that could. I was quite proud of the effort that the machine gave. :D

Here are the 4 that I made

Wow, they are big. I never knew there was such a thing as a prop cover, but then what I know about airplanes is limited to parking my butt on one to go somewhrere nice.

Well done, Rose. Seeing the size of them makes the effort even more amazing.
