Thank you. I hope I'm not posting too many updates!

I just found out that one of my best friends is pregnant! She's due in September and I think I've picked out the project I'm going to stitch for her. Stay tuned!

Too many updates? I don't think there is such a thing.

Here is today's update. I had to frog "husband" twice because I kept mis counting by one square and couldn't fit the "d" in. Very frustrating but I finally succeeded!

I went to a concert at my church last night. A lady sat in front of me who knows I cross stitch. She was working on a baby sampler on linen. My wife urged me to show her my photo of this project and she snubbed me because I only work on Aida. That hurt my feelings. So I'm not advanced like she is. I LOVE what I do and I have fun with it. I thought it was very rude of her to act like my project wasn't good enough. She laughed that I gridded it with markers, too. Oh well.

I think some people are just plain stupid, if they know better they should help others not laugh at them. Especially while sitting in a church!! :tantrum:

Just because she's working on linen doesn't mean she is more advanced than you! :tantrum: There are many experienced stitchers who prefer aida.......what a snob!

Your project is looking amazing and that silly bat doesn't know what she's talking about!

It sounds like you encountered a very rude and insensitive stitcher. So sorry to hear that. She's probably similarly rude about many other things. I think I'd just steer clear of her. Your work is great. Keep having fun with it.

Your DH must be proud of your work to suggest you show it to her. :D

Why do people have to be so ridiculous. I have done many many years of stitching and some of my stuff is quite intricate, does it mean that it is not as good because it is done on aida????? I do not think so. I am comfortable with my work and no one that matters cares that it is done on aida. People like her are just silly. I am so glad you have us to come to because we appreciate the great work that you are doing. Brush her off she is not worth your time.

Your stitching is beautiful!!!!!! :applesauce: :applesauce:

I agree! And how sweet that your wife likes to show off your work. She's obviously very proud of you, and that far outweighs the fabric snob.

Thank you for all of your support. You really know how to make a girl feel special.

I hope to finish the top design this weekend. Then it will be to do the decorative stuff on the bottom sides and then the personalization! The shower is one week from tomorrow!

I agree too. I love this piece! The couple are going to love the piece! And no one who is worth anything will even notice (besides care) what the fabric is. I guess that says how much that lady(?) is worth
