Obviously, I'll need to purchase more pearl cottons... such a pity, really, isn't it.

I'm setting about searching to see if anyone knows what colours make up Anchor 1325 (Iris), for starts. There is a Pearl #8 in 1325, so that's a last resort. Come to think of it, I have some of these more subtle multicolours in Pearl #5, but not their #8 equivalent. :thinks:

Something good (increasing one's stash) always (almost always anyway) results from a tragic event (discovering that Caron Wildflowers don't behave as we would always like them to). To really recover from such a difficult happening, you could also see what other threads or fabrics or charts you might want to add also. Just a thought

If you're looking for variagated horse shoes, would it help if I gently reminded you that they are actually charted in perle #5, not perle #8? I know Anchor Multicolor comes in a wider range in #5.

Incidentally, I did the horseshoes in my yellow and light green on dark green version using Watercolours, and that seemed to go without a hitch.

 Ah. Well. Yes, that does make a big difference, Mabel...  (I just knew they weren't right, naturally assumed it was my inadequate stitching.) The horseshoes will stitch up a treat in pearl 5, and I've never had a problem with Watercolours, either. Just goes to show... read the instructions properly!

I stitched August central buttonhole flower in #8 and wondered why it didn't look like Mabel's........I then over stitched it in the 2nd colour....   WHY?????

THEN I read the instructions! :tantrum:

Thank you for all the lovely comments, it's helping to keep my stitchy bug at home where it belongs. My old stand broke, taking my work light with it. My meds make me feel like i'm made of limp rubber. So all in all, I've been feeling a little sorry for myself. Now however, my new stand has arrived....I can't do my main projects as I need a new light, but because my hardanger fabric finally arrived and I can do this without a light :D here's May

Thanks for looking and sorry for the slightly OT waffle
Now...where did I put the chart for June? :thinks:
(oh and the red is not a backing, just the top of my stash storage box :D )

Thank you for all the wonderful comments . I know need to tuck the ends in but I really need decent light for that. Which I don't have as I tend to stitch after the children are in bed. Our room lights are terrible for doing any detail. My fabulous Hubby is getting me a new light when he next gets paid. So after having a look, I have picked this one. (I did try to get a cheaper one, but was told off by DH who said I might as well get the right one rather than a cheap one. I  him so  ). Anyway I'd better clear up the lunch dishes, sorry for going slightly off topic
