I love the way you use colours to symbolise the months, it's very descriptive!

Have added October and November to the SAL Gallery, and ainjel I noticed your May wasn't there yet so I added that too . Can you remember what colours you used, by any chance? (sorry it's taken rather a long time...)

Re: Song of the Weather SAL - August and onwards!
And here's December. It represents sky rather than garden, really. This features Caron (Watercolours) Winter Dusk (069), Anchor #5 1302 (Marble), Caron Wildflowers Woodlands (076), DMC #8 3743 (pale lavender), Kreinik #4 9294 (Periwinkle), Kreinik #4 32 (pearl) and Mill Hill seed beads 02026 (crystal blue). (whew!) The Kreinik is in the dragonfly wings. Another trick was to use only the bit of the variegated thread I needed. The suggestion of water around the bullrushes is cut from Caron Woodlands, for example; the dragonfly wings are cut from Winter Dusk.
And here's a (rather rough) photo of the whole thing. I need to decide what to do next... add names of the month underneath each design perhaps? But which alphabet?

Serinde that is a truly magical December - I love the colours you've chosen and how wintry it looks! (Poor shivery dragonflies...)
Like you I have occasionally cut the bits I want from a variegated thread. Perfectly good technique, very useful, but it always leaves me feeling a wee bit guilty

Amazing, amazing finishes, and so nice to see the whole chart together. I'd definitely suggest an alphabet that has some copperplate quality to it to highlight your stitching and the designs. Would you use the same colour for all the months? Or find a complementary colour for each month?
